Property Description for 85 Adams Street, 3-D

Welcome to Residence 3D at The Beacon Tower. The Beacon Tower was designed to be an Oasis of Zen-like calm in the heart of Dumbo, one of Brooklyn’s most vibrant neighborhoods. This spacious corner two bedroom two bathroom home truly lives up to the architect’s original vision. The home displays 12’ high beamed ceilings and oak hardwood flooring throughout. At approximately 1169 square feet, the property has oversized city windows throughout which allow natural light to flood the space throughout the day. Other noteworthy elements include a multi-zone central air system, Bosch washer and dryer, excellent storage, and treetop bridge views. The owners have added city windows throughout the entire apartment which keep it very quiet. Upon entry you have a wall of closet space. Past the long foyer, moving North is your massive Kitchen and Living Room. The Living Room, surrounded by windows receives tons of natural light and has a dining area with banquet seating. The chef’s windowed Kitchen features top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances, an oversized fridge, custom oak wood cabinets, a garbage disposal, and wide stone countertops with breakfast bar. Moving back, is the guest bathroom and secondary bedroom. The bathroom has a soaking tub and the second bedroom- large enough for a Queen size bed- has a large closet and West facing exposure with direct views of the Manhattan Bridge. Finally, the spacious primary Bedroom offers three large closets, enough room for a king size bed, home office and an extra large en-suite primary bath with a deep 20 Zuma soaking tub and double sink vanity. The Beacon Tower is one of Dumbo’s tallest and most sought after luxury condominiums. The building offers a gorgeous roof deck with breathtaking views of the iconic Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, The East River, as well as the Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines. Rounding out this full service building has a live-in super, on-site parking, modern fitness center, and 2,200 Square Foot zen garden. Surrounded by cobblestone streets, award winning restaurants, convenient to the (F,A,C,J,Z,R,2,3,4,5 trains), a short walk to waterfront parks, and ferry service to Manhattan, this home truly lives up to the original vision of an Oasis.

Dumbo | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

DUMBO, which is an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, used to be a lively industrial and manufacturing zone, full of large factories and warehouses. These buildings have now been converted into expansive lofts, theaters, galleries, and office spaces for start-up companies. These larger residential spaces are attractive to families and creative artists and writers who need space to dream and create.

DUMBO was named in 1978 as a sort of reverse marketing ploy to try to keep people from swarming into the area, attracted by the quaint tree-lined streets, elegant historic brownstones, large lofts, and views of Lower Manhattan. It was felt that this influx of people would change the nature of the neighborhood. It was hoped that by giving the area a ridiculous name, nobody would want to live there.

Many of the neighborhood’s bars, hotels, and restaurants capitalize on the stunning waterfront views and the Manhattan skyline in the background. Interesting and fun cultural events are held under and around the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges that connect DUMBO to Manhattan. One of these is the annual Oktoberfest.

With beautiful vignettes of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges being framed around every corner, DUMBO provides residents and tourists with charming, and often surprising, views. Because the neighborhood is eminently walkable and filled with unique shops, it feels like a small town on the edge of a major urban waterfront. Once people move to DUMBO, they tend to stay and become involved in the community.
