Property Description for 33 Greenwich Ave, 6-C

At the crossroads of West 10th and Greenwich, in the heart of the West Village, you'll find this sun-soaked, newly renovated alcove studio. With idyllic south-facing views, 6C's panorama of windows overlooks landmark facades and the historic Jefferson Market Gardens below. The thoughtful layout provides room for dining, living and work spaces, while the sleeping area comfortably fits a queen-sized bed and two nightstands. The recently renovated kitchen boasts pristine soapstone countertops as well as new subway tile backsplash. The jewel of the kitchen is the commercial gas range by Blue Star, worthy of even the most avid home chef. A dishwasher and stainless-steel refrigerator by Liebherr round out the package and leave very little to be desired. A large front-hall closet plus two additional full-sized closets (with built-ins) line the entry gallery, providing a wealth of storage. The white subway tiled bathroom with glass shower door is both modern and functional. The hardwood floors throughout the apartment have been freshly stained and refinished, and the through-wall air-conditioner keeps your windows unobstructed and your space cool on even the sunniest of days. Situated in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city, the Saint Germaine is a well-maintained, full-service co-op that offers a spate of comforts and amenities rarely seen in this corner of the city. With its 24/7 door staff, live-in super, fitness center, bike storage, basement laundry and parking garage, you’ll be well tended to. The halls and common areas recently underwent beautification and are now reminiscent of that of a boutique hotel. The manicured and fully furnished roof-deck is a true jaw-dropper, offering 360-degree views of the entire city and a uniquely appealing space in which to host guests on a warm day. 33 Greenwich allows pets, pied-à-terre, co-purchasing, gifting, and subletting, subject to board approval. There is a capital assessment of $216.23 in place until June 30th, 2024.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
