Property Description for 125 West 12th Street, 4-E

Welcome home to your Greenwich Village oasis thoughtfully designed in 2018 by famed architect Liesl Geiger-Kincade of Studio Geiger. All aspects of this home have been upgraded including the kitchen and bathroom. As you enter 4E you are greeted by the generous foyer with California Closets and 9'6" ceilings throughout. The stunning kitchen includes top-of-the-line appliances - Miele Fridge/Freezer, Miele Dishwasher, Wolf Range and Hood, a Shaw farmhouse sink and Rohl sink fixtures. Along the kitchen there is a 7 foot wood shelf cut from the forest in Princeton, NJ and custom cabinetry from Waterfront Kitchens with overhead lighting from Allied Maker. A SubZero 48 bottle wine refrigerator completes this ideal kitchen. Entering the living room, the landmarked townhouse view beckons as original details include crown moldings and baseboards are throughout. The dining area has a custom built-in dining bench from Urban Homecraft to accommodate a dining/office area and provides comfortable seating for six people. As you enter the windowed bathroom you will find Ann Sacks limestone tile on the floor, a new custom 8 foot glass shower enclosure, Rohl sink fixtures, Toto soft close toilet, sconces by Allied Maker and subway tile throughout from Daltile. The primary bedroom is an oasis, with his and hers closets, which both include built-in dressers and a lot of overhead storage. An additional built-in, which functions as a radiator cover and additional storage, was installed. The hallway and primary bedroom closet doors were replaced with 8 foot solid wood doors and include Rejuvenation hardware. Throughout the home the floors have been refinished and all closets have been built out by California Closets. The electrical panel was upgraded during the renovation and new double pane windows throughout were installed in 2021. 125 West 12th Street is an established cooperative with 34 homes, a live-in superintendent, laundry in the basement, storage for lease, bike storage and low monthly carrying costs. Pied-a-terre, co-purchasing, parents buying for children, subletting and 70% financing is allowed. Pets allowed without a weight limit.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
