Property Description for 94 MacDonough Street, 2

///Be the first to live in this meticulously renovated four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom brownstone triplex with outdoor access in the coveted Stuyvesant Heights Historic District. Featuring expansive living space, four bedroom suites with en suite baths and a masterful culinary kitchen, this brand-new home exudes bespoke quality throughout.

Step inside to discover gorgeous hardwood floors and new windows beautifully integrated with elegant millwork and original architectural details. From the grand entry, double doors open to the sprawling living/dining room, where a stately gas fireplace, exquisite window and door enframements, picture-frame moldings and a crystal chandelier make a dramatic first impression. Double pocket doors reveal the stunning chef's kitchen equipped with a BlueStar Platinum Series range, a Wolf convection and steam wall oven, plus a refrigerator, refrigerator drawers and a wine refrigerator by Thermador. Oversized pantry storage flanks a charming eat-in breakfast nook, and a convenient powder room completes the well-planned level. Outside, a new steel deck with a spiral staircase to the garden makes indoor-outdoor living and entertaining irresistible.

Above, the serene owner's suite impresses with treetop views, king-size proportions and a custom walk-in closet. French doors open to the en suite spa bathroom featuring a clawfoot tub/shower, double vanity and private water closet. A large rear-facing suite on this level overlooks the garden. On the top floor, two more spacious and bright suites flank a large playroom/den. A laundry closet with an in-unit washer-dryer and utility sink adds convenience, and bathrooms throughout this showplace are trimmed with beautiful designer tile, pedestal sinks and contemporary fixtures. Nest-controlled three-zone HVAC, including two mini-split units and one radiator, ensure year-round comfort, and the green building is topped by solar panels. A fire sprinkler system, monitored alarm system, security camera and video doorbell attend to safety.

Built by John Fraser in 1885, 94 MacDonough Street sits among the 14 French neo-Grec brownstones that give this block its wonderful symmetry and harmony. In fact, the Stuyvesant Heights Historic District Designation Report praises the block, noting, "This pleasant residential street has a quality and charm of its own."

This exceptional home combines Brownstone Brooklyn tranquility and outstanding accessibility with fantastic shopping, dining and nightlife venues in every direction. Delightful parks and playgrounds dot the area, and sprawling Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Library and Museum are just over a mile away. Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
