Property Description for 60 White Street, PH-W

The trophy atop downtown's smartest and most environmentally-conscious boutique condominium, this duplex penthouse offers 3,129 square feet of living space and over 722 square feet of private terraces in the heart of Tribeca. A discreet virtual doorman with keyed-elevator access to both light-filled floors ensures privacy and convenience. The expansive fifth floor's living/dining room is anchored by three oversized Zola Passive House triple-pane windows, reclaimed oak flooring, and soaring ceilings – all pushing engineered boundaries while paying homage to the 147-year-old historic edifice. The custom kitchen features all locally-sourced materials as well as Sub-Zero, Asko and Thermador appliances, dual steam and convection Wolf ovens, a Wolf induction cooktop, Vermont Quarries Danby Marble countertops, and optimal storage. Two bedrooms, both with en-suite baths, as well as a powder room, mudroom, walk-in closet, and laundry room, finish this floor. A beautiful sculptural staircase leads to the penthouse's most dramatic elements as it artfully blends indoor and outdoor living. Sliding glass doors frame the south-facing terrace with a bluestone counter bar, refrigerator, two outdoor showers, and unobstructed views of the Freedom Tower. A powder room and mudroom, ideal for guests, separates the top floor's entertaining and private living space. Rounding off the top floor, the master suite is complete with a wet bar/kitchenette, a grand six-piece master bathroom, an abundance of closet space, and an adjacent private terrace with Empire State Building views to the north. Additional state-of-the-art features of the property include separate air control, perimeter radiant heating, electronic and video intercom systems, as well as an individually-wired security system by American Security, a pre-wired Cloud9 system, and a Lutron home automation system. Be a part of history at 60 White Street where residents enjoy an on-site fitness center and storage, a private residential lounge with green landscape features, and a planted eco-wall in the entrance gallery.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
