Showing by appointment only.

Impeccably Renovated Village Gem You've found your Greenwich Village Gold Coast dream home at the full-service Lafayette! If it weren't enough to live in downtown's best neighborhood, you'll be most intrigued by the exquisite renovation (completed July 2021) of this gorgeous 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment. Among the many thoughtful enhancements is an all-new opened-up chef's kitchen, enlarged bathrooms, new soundproof windows with Hunter Douglas coverings, new solid core wood doors with Baldwin hardware, custom California closets, extensive millwork, new lighting, electrical and plumbing. A large custom wood sliding pocket door was also installed in the newly-built den/office created off the living area.

This expansive residence exudes modern style and attention to detail at its finest. Light pours in through oversized eastern and western windows, with open views of gardens and blossoming dogwood trees enjoyed from the living room and 2nd bedroom. A dining area with handcrafted pendant light fixture sits off the impeccably-remodeled MCKB custom kitchen styled with Miralis custom cabinetry and Ceasarstone Calacatta Nuno countertops with full backsplash. Completing the experience is a custom banquette with oak top and storage, oversized pantry, premium appliances for the chef by Wolf, Sub-Zero and Bosch, plus a 30-bottle Edgestar under-counter wine fridge.

Sunny sleeping quarters occupy their own wing and offer custom-outfitted closets. The primary bedroom facing University Place is quietly setback from the street. Its stunning en-suite bath clad in Lasa Bianco wall tile and Calcutta floor tile was enlarged, featuring a Starphire glass spa shower. The 2nd bedroom accesses the main bath, also enlarged and elegantly appointed with Bedrosian wall tile, Restoration Hardware Bristol recessed medicine cabinets, and floating oak shelves.

Set on the former site of The Lafayette Hotel, 30 East 9th is a premier 6-story co-op with a 24-hour doorman, live-in super, grand lobby with viewing garden, on-site laundry, and adjacent parking garage. The prime address is near shops, restaurants cafes, Washington Square and Union Square Parks, the Farmers Market, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and all major subway lines. Lot of buzz, too, for the new Wegman's coming nearby to Union Square. Pets, gift funds, and 80% financing are all permitted, but unfortunately W/D's are not allowed in apartments. Liberal sublet policy after 2-year residency with board approval.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
