Property Description for 345 Montgomery Street, 1-L

Located in this Historic Dearborn Cooperative this south facing 1 BR home has it all !
Although it is on the first floor.... it actually feels like it's much higher up in the building. In many of these elegant and well designed pre-war buildings they had a gradual stepping up to the entrance and then a gradual stepping up to the lobby and then a gradual stepping up to the apartments....so you actually are quite a ways off the street level. You have a window in every room.....and all the windows are south facing and get tons of light.
The present sellers have stylishly re-done the entire apartment so that this home is a lovely combination of old world charm with new world appliances and conveniences. It may be compact, but has everything you need. Good closets, space for Living and Dining in the Living Room, and even a space for a home office in the Bedroom. The windowed kitchen is gorgeous. Any cook would be happy with the set up and storage and quality of finishes in this Cook's Kitchen. Stainless steel appliances and a beautiful countertop and blue tiled back splash. High ceilings, hardwood floors, pre-war detailing are some of the other bonuses. The bathroom is also beautifully updated. The stall shower has built-in-nooks for storage and the medicine cabinet is also built into the wall so allow for a gorgeous designer mirror to hang over the sink. Did I say it was a quiet apartment, pet friendly and low monthlies.
The Dearborn was built in l928. It is a magnificent Pre-War elevator cooperative with 102 units, a central garden courtyard, large elegant lobby, live-in super and laundry room. The building has two elevators and the windows in all apartments have recently been replaced. The Art Deco lobby provides a timeless and lovely entrance to the building and opens to the front courtyard, which is maintained by the shareholders, along with all the greenery surrounding this gorgeous building.
Located directly between the President and Sterling Street 2/5 train stations make it quick to get to Barclay's Center/Downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan. You have Prospect Park, Brooklyn Botanical Garden, and Grand Army Plaza all nearby for your enjoyment and Citibike stations close by. The Dearborn is surrounded by many fabulous restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood. Some of our favorites are: Cafe Rue Dix on Bedford, Chavela's on Franklin, Allan's Bakery on Nostrand, and Glou on Rogers.I.D. and Masks required for showings. Run, don't walk. This apartment will not last.

Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
