Property Description for 960 Sterling Place, 4-E

960 Sterling Place Brooklyn, NY 11213 Apt 4E

New to the market: Do not miss the opportunity to make this Crown Heights gem your new home. Situated on a historic, quiet and treelined block you'll be able to enjoy this urban oasis while being in close proximity to the eclectic shops on bustling Nostrand and Franklin Avenues. Multiple transit lines (2,3,4,5 and S) are nearby allowing a convenient commute into Manhattan as well as neighboring communities within Brooklyn. You'll be encompassed by many beautiful parks (including nearby Prospect Park and the Botanical Gardens) and an immense amount of culture like the Brooklyn Museum.

This charming one-bedroom co-op is cavernous in size and scope (approximately 1,000 square feet). This unit is the perfect blend of moody Earth tones combined with the ideal amount of kiss from the sun. The original parquet floors have been pristinely preserved and the unit has been renovated for your modern sensibilities. Take note of the custom wood doors and light fixtures. Enter the property through the foyer, which is spacious enough to turn into a dining nook (10'8" x 7'9"). Marvel at the design of the arches in the doorway that provides this beautiful home with additional character.

The living room is an extremely generous space to entertain and to lounge (13'2" x 18'5"). The kitchen is a separated room and has been recently renovated with top of the line designer appliances and craftsmanship. Perfectly curated and attention paid to every last detail. Smartly designed with an abundance of cabinet, pantry and counter space. The earthy blue hues and white subway tile backsplash makes this room pop. The bathroom has also been recently renovated and restored.

The bedroom is very large and can be designed to your distinguished taste (11'11" x 18'1"). This room can easily accommodate a king size bed and full set of furniture with room to spare. Closet space is plentiful throughout the unit.

As an extra bonus you'll have access to laundry on-site as well as a gorgeously manicured common outdoor space.

Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
