No space is wasted in this lovingly maintained garden duplex with an upper 2BR rental unit. Enter up or under the stoop to the owner's 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom apartment with private garden and pristine cellar. The garden floor has a wonderful open plan for comfortable living, cooking, entertaining and dining, complimented by two beautiful original decorative fireplaces. The bright, windowed kitchen was completely redone featuring tons of gorgeous custom wooden cabinetry, a large center island, beautiful white-veined Silestone counters, a deep farmhouse sink, Wolf oven and range with outdoor venting hood, and a stainless steel fridge. Just off the kitchen is a lovely, renovated powder room. The back garden is deep, level and lush with a green grass lawn, gardening shed, small patio area for outdoor dining, and wrap-around wood plank fence for privacy. The massive cellar is spotlessly clean and ready for use as a family rec area, home fitness center, office, additional storage or whatever you can dream up! Upstairs on the parlor floor you have three well proportioned bedrooms all with massive 8' tall windows facing North and South that let bright light in all day long. Each bedroom features large double door closets. There’s mini-split central air-conditioning on both floors in the owners unit. The happy top floor rental or guest unit is perfectly laid out, with an expansive full building width living room with bright northern exposure, a galley kitchen with brilliant skylight, and two queen sized bedrooms facing the private garden with bright south facing windows. Everything in this home has been maintained with the utmost care and thoughtfulness; there’s zero creak or squeak to be found anywhere. Seeing is believing! Enjoy the luxury of a no work required, totally move-in ready home with the option to start collecting rental income immediately. Located on Monroe Street, a picturesque brownstone street in western Bedford-Stuyvesant, a few short blocks from the Nostrand A/C trains and the Bedford-Nostrand G station. Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
