Property Description for 456 West 19th Street, 2/3D

Artistry and elegance perfectly align in this West Chelsea duplex residence. This home, currently configured as a large one bedroom, occupies the most sought-after corner of this boutique condominium. Prepare to be wowed from the moment you enter the front door.

On the main level, after passing through a proper entry foyer, you are drawn into the flexible and open living space. The modern kitchen features Corian countertops and backsplash, integral sink, and a SubZero and Meile appliance package including integrated refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, wine cooler, gas range, and convection oven. A multi-zone central HVAC system keeps the home perfectly climate controlled at all times, and motorized blinds allow for additional privacy.

With 18’ ceilings, massive casement windows, and stunning Northern & Western exposures, the apartment is flooded with light. While it’s currently configured with dedicated dining and living areas, the main level can easily accommodate a second bedroom. A dramatic canvas for an art collection, there is ample wall space to show off your favorite pieces. Storage and convenience are everywhere with multiple closets, a full guest bathroom, and Miele washer/dryer on this level.

Head upstairs and you’ll find the primary bedroom overlooking the space below. Also flooded with light, yet perfectly private, this room is a comfortable sanctuary with ample room for a King-sized bed and home office setup. Rounding out the second floor is the primary bathroom, with honed Italian marble floors, a custom teak double vanity, windowed steam shower, as well as a massive dressing room suitable for the Chelsea fashionista within all of us.

456 W 19th Street is a celebrated condominium with only 22 residences across 11 stories. Designed by architect Cary Tamarkin to recall the neighborhood’s iconic artist studios of the early 20th Century, the brick & steel-clad facade is a striking presence in the neighborhood. Amenities include a 24hr doorman, full-time super, architecturally designed common garden (conveniently on the same floor as this unit), bike storage, and a private storage locker that conveys with the unit.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
