Property Description for 243 McDonald Ave, 4-T

Don't miss the opportunity to own for less than renting! This bright and spacious fourth-floor home features generously-sized rooms, abundant closet space, and hardwood floors throughout. Tucked away at the end of a hall, you'll experience privacy and quiet. Enter through a welcoming foyer graciously dividing the entry from the open living and dining area, accented by vintage floor-to-ceiling mirrors. Enjoy sunlight streaming through the south-facing living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom windows, with an additional bedroom window facing west, for colorful Brooklyn sunsets. The kitchen, separated from the living room (a wall that has been opened in some other units) is lined with cabinets for plentiful storage and has ample counter space. There's even room for a baker's rack or small cafe table. A coat closet, linen closet, and two additional closets line the halls, and a classic bathroom features a windowed shower. The extra large bedroom brings in light from two exposures, can easily fit a king-sized bed, and has yet another full closet. Windsor Terrace is a sought-after Brooklyn neighborhood between beloved Prospect Park and historic Greenwood Cemetery. Right around the corner, on Hamilton Avenue, you'll find an assortment of services, cafes, restaurants, and gourmet markets like Brancaccio’s, Hamilton's, and Jaya Yoga, plus a public library and subway station. Conveniently located near the F & G trains at two different stops, you will be just a short train ride from Manhattan or other neighborhoods in Brooklyn. This is a unique opportunity to live in a well-maintained elevator building with a vibrant sense of community and excellent amenities. Surrounded by manicured green space, there is also a private courtyard for residents. The building is 100% owner-occupied and has a live-in super, two porters, and on-site amenities including: a package room for deliveries, a bike room, a recreation room (also available for private rental), and laundry. Maintenance includes all utilities -- gas, electric, heat, hot water, even high-speed internet and cable with HBO and Showtime. Storage and on-site garage parking are both available at additional cost and with a possible wait list. Cats OK, but sorry -- no dogs.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
