Property Description for 657 Prospect Place, 3

This two-bedroom condo is a tranquil oasis set amid everything you could possibly want - and more. Situated mid-block, atop a three-unit townhouse, this floor-through attracts light throughout the day, all year round, thanks not only to its southern exposure but also due to the wonderful skylight located above the dining and living room area. Mature trees line the block, providing plenty of cooling shade on those long, hot days, and making summer stoop sessions with neighbors something to look forward to. A brief flight of stairs from the parlor level entry takes you to the apartment where you’ll find a bright, open space with plenty of natural light. Exposed brick, blonde hardwood floors, and clean white lines continue throughout the space. The living room provides you with a wonderful open-plan space where the dining and living areas blend seamlessly together. Perfect for entertaining. You’ll never miss a beat, whether hosting a dinner party or keeping an eye on little ones as they entertain themselves. The modern, streamlined kitchen features a range of stainless-steel appliances, including a Smeg range, Blomberg refrigerator, and most importantly, a high-efficiency Bosch dishwasher. The northern aspect draws in plenty of light here, thanks to the new, double-pane windows, and open views dominated by blue skies. Adjacent to your living space you’ll find a recently renovated bathroom, where clean white lines and blonde wood predominate, and a clever transom window filters natural light. Heading down the brief hallway, you’ll find the two bedrooms. The main bedroom is bright and airy, with leafy tree-top views filtering sunlight in all day long, and a spacious walk-in closet provides plenty of hanging space. Adjacent you’ll find the secondary bedroom, currently set up as a nursery. It could just as easily become your guest bedroom, office, or home gym. You decide! This wonderful, self-managed condo is pet-friendly and has super low monthlies. You’ll find almost everything you could need on nearby Franklin Avenue, while the cafes, restaurants and more, towards Bedford Avenue provide the perfect backup. Subways are found along the A/C line on Fulton or the 2/3 & 4/5 lines on Eastern Parkway. And the quirky elevated S line is less than a block away. Could this be the ideal space for you? Come take a look.

Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
