Property Description for 655 Washington Ave, 1-A

Prime Brooklyn's most unique offering is now available! Welcome to 655 Washington Ave, Apt 1A! This spectacular condo offers an approximate 1300 sqft of flexible layout, low carrying costs, two private outdoor spaces and comes with your very own PRIVATE GARAGE!
Upon entry you will be immediately impressed with 10' ceiling height and eastern sunlight pouring in through floor to ceiling windows. Morning light bounces off the original tigerwood flooring, giving the home a warm glow. The modern kitchen includes a full stainless steel appliance package, lots of smart storage, and an oversized island. Off the living area, your private balcony is perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. Two bedrooms are just off the living space. The larger bedroom is queen sized. The smaller bedroom makes for a perfect office or kid's room. A full bathroom is on this floor, as well.
Appreciate the separation of going down to the lower level, currently used as the primary bedroom. This flexible space can also be used as an additional living space, or both. The current owners have outfitted this floor with expansive custom storage along with a custom bedframe and headboard. A king-sized bed is no problem at all on this floor! A second full bathroom with double sink vanity is located just off the hallway. Through the bathroom you will find a walk-in laundry room with tons of additional storage space. A wall of floor to ceiling windows leads to your private back yard. This second outdoor space is large enough for entertaining and ideal for home gardeners. Of course, the cherry on top to all of this indoor and outdoor space is the fact that you get your own private garage! No more looking for parking or renting out a storage facility for all of your stuff! This additional space and flexibility is truly a life changer!
655 Washington, known as The Blue Sky Condominium, is a self-managed elevator, boutique condominium TAX ABATED until 2034. Boasting low carrying costs, the building is home to only 10 residences. Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
