Property Description for 245 Seventh Ave, 4-B

Residence 4B is a tastefully redesigned 3 BD / 3 BA corner loft with 11' beamed ceilings, terrific natural light and beautiful hardwood floors throughout. Enter this 2258 SF apartment through an impressive foyer with a designated walk-in coat closet and the first of three full baths (this one including a Miele W/D). Acting as the main corridor for this home, the formal entryway bisects the apartment, separating the vast living / dining area from the sequestered sleeping quarters on either side of this sprawling apartment. The massive primary suite faces West over Seventh Avenue and includes room for a sizable seating area, walk-in closet, dressing area and a recently renovated marble ensuite spa bathroom with soaking tub and steam shower. To the South of the grand foyer there is direct access to the private second bedroom, complete with an ensuite full bath. At the end of the hall, through a custom french door, the apartment opens up to a dramatic great room with a contemporary open-concept kitchen and a separate third bedroom / office. Grounded by an immaculate chef's kitchen, the exceptional living space can be configured to include separate seating / lounge and dining areas. The sleek white marble kitchen has ample counter space, stainless steel appliances (Subzero Fridge, Wolf Range, Bosch DW), and an incredible center island with built in wine fridge, excessive storage and convenient corner counter seating for four. With dual exposures across six oversized windows, sunlight streams into the great room from the South up Seventh Avenue and from the West along 24th street all day long. The Chelsea Atelier is a premier boutique condominium on Seventh Avenue between 24th and 25th streets in the heart of Chelsea. Built in 1911 with a decidedly Italian flair and a handsome terracotta cornice, 245 7th Ave originally housed an exclusive paper manufacturer and a handful of more traditional garment industry tenants. The building was converted to 33 condominiums in 1997, now complete with a chic minimalist lobby, 24 hour doorman, on-site super and basement storage. Nearby transit includes subway access via the 1/2, A/C/E, F/M, N/R/Q/W, The Path at 23rd Street and NJ Transit, Amtrak & LIRR at Penn Station. This location has easy access to Trader Joes and Whole Foods (directly across the street), many of the city's best bars and restaurants, countless fitness options, Madison Square Park and the High Line.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
