Property Description for 2611 Frederick Douglass Blvd, 3-B

WELCOME HOME to this turn-key delight!!

Apartment 3B is a beautifully GUT RENOVATED 3-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom prewar condo in The Bradhurst at Strivers Row. The renovation kept many of the classic touches such as crown molding and exposed brick accent walls. With approximately 1200 square feet, this apartment truly feels like a home.

As you enter, you will immediately notice the OPEN FLOORPLAN with the chefs kitchen open to the large living room and dining room area.

The windowed kitchen boasts all STAINLESS-STEEL WOLF APPLIANCES, a deep farmhouse sink, plenty of cabinet space, a 36-inch 6-burner range and a 36-inch double door fridge. The kitchen counter can also double as a breakfast bar, with room for stools on the side closest to the living room.

Continuing down the hallway, to the left, is the LAUNDRY AREA WITH STORAGE and in-unit washer. Past this is the windowed half bath.

There are two bedrooms of very similar size--first to the right and the other is straight at the end of the hall. Between these is the expansive primary bedroom which includes two windows for plenty of NATURAL LIGHT. All three bedrooms include sizable closets.

The Bradhurst at Strivers Row was built in 1896 and converted to condominiums in 1997. It is extremely well maintained and quiet. It is an elevator building with part-time doorman, live-in super, video security, and a shared courtyard. It is in close proximity to the A/B/C/D trains, the 2/3 trains, and also the M10 bus for a quick and easy commute to midtown. There is a KeyFood kiddy corner to the building with a New York Sports Club, Starbucks, various food options and the Jackie Robinson Recreation center all close by.

Come see all that 3B and The Bradhurst have to offer!

Harlem | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The neighborhood called West Harlem by the locals is known as Manhattanville to neighborhood newcomers. The area is culturally diverse and might be considered a microcosm of the city as a whole.

Columbia University has recently expanded into the area, which is attracting student residents from all over the world. Together with students from the City College of New York and young professionals fleeing higher prices in other neighborhoods, this influx of younger residents has brought with it more restaurants and bars on W 125th Street to serve this clientele. There are also new ventures, like a rock-climbing gym, to cater to the interests of these students and young professionals. At the same time, there are many small, family-owned shops and restaurants that have been anchors of the neighborhood for multiple generations.

The area has been through a housing upgrade, as older properties have been renovated and abandoned properties have been razed to make room for new development. There are still reasonably priced apartments available. Young professionals are finding that there is a certain cachet to living in West Harlem. It provides a convenient commute to the city and all of its amenities, while providing a sense of escape at the end of a long work day.

While rentals are popular with the student population, the young professionals are delighted to find pre-war brownstones, pre-war co-ops (including some income-capped HDFCs for lower- and middle-income buyers), and post-war condos that they can afford, although prices are rising. Some new low-rise developments, sporting virtual doormen and desired amenities, are cropping up.
