Property Description for 8 Cheever Place, THOUSE

Full townhouse rental! - 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, & 1 half bath - Available for a May 16th move-in - NO FEE Full Video Walkthrough (copy & paste link): https://youtu.be/XkDh8gVSJ9M 3D Virtual Tour: https://bit.ly/8cheever On a beautiful, tree-lined block in Brooklyn’s quaint Cobble Hill neighborhood, sits a townhouse initially used by a local grocer. Welcome to an industrial oasis topped with soaring ceilings and anchored by custom-made Madera Trade wide plank floors. This home’s revitalized interior aesthetic draws inspiration from 20th-century French modernists like Le Corbusier, Pierre Chareau, and Jean Prouve. Every inch of this home is thoughtfully designed to delight you, from the etched transom window that throws a shadow of the house’s number in script on the adjacent wall, to the custom-made blackened steel staircase. Upon entering, an open concept reveals a spacious living room featuring a storefront window which you can leave exposed to street views, or close off with built-in blinds for private gatherings. This level also holds a convenient powder room with a modern design scheme and added washer + dryer. Here, you’ll also find a blackened steel and wire glass kitchen with a full suite of high-quality stainless steel appliances, including a gas range + hood, wine cooler, dishwasher and refrigerator, abundant storage space, and an island topped with Caesarstone. An exposed brick wall complements the lacquered steel staircase on each level of this home and guides your path as you travel about. In the cellar, an additional spacious living area and under-the-stairs wet bar create the perfect hangout for entertaining guests or settling in for a relaxing night. The stunning primary suite occupies the whole second level of this home with a large bedroom, a dressing area closet, and a windowed en suite bathroom featuring a glass-enclosed shower, sleek tile work, vanity, and designer finishes. Two additional large bedrooms fill the third level, and a convenient full bathroom sits close to both rooms. Practical conveniences like the ample power outlets, task lighting, and perhaps most of all, the heated bathroom flooring, are amenities that make daily life in the home a joy. An enviable location leaves you near the F, G, 4, and 5 Subway lines, and several major bus routes. Explore the nearby Court Street to find local shops and dinner favorites. Cobble Hill | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The neighborhood now known as Cobble Hill was originally settled by Dutch farmers in the mid-1600s. Tucked along the East River, in the heart of Brooklyn, Cobble Hill is known for its welcoming, leafy streets, independent mom-and-pop shops, and 19th century brownstones.

Most of Cobble Hill lies within an historic landmark district, and building heights are restricted to 50 feet, which helps maintain its 19th century atmosphere. Building owners will often split the use of their four- or five-story buildings, occupying several of the top floors and renting out the ground floor as apartments or, conversely, occupying one or more of the lower floors and renting out the top floors. New construction and alterations to existing buildings in the historic district require approval by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, which helps maintain the historic character of the Cobble Hill neighborhood.

Although most housing in Cobble Hill consists of traditional brownstones and brick townhouses,, you will also find churches that have been converted to condos, carriage houses that have become luxury apartments and Victorian school houses that have been converted into lofts.

Court Street and Atlantic Avenue are the main commercial streets in the neighborhood. You will find popular Middle Eastern restaurants on Atlantic Avenue. Court Street is home to casual restaurants, many with outdoor seating, relaxed cafes and hip bars.

Many young professionals and families live in the brownstones, townhouses, and single-family homes that line the leafy streets. Cobble Hill is a great place to live if you work on Wall Street, as you can walk over the Brooklyn Bridge to work.
