Property Description for 130 West 20th Street, 1-A

The Prima Building located at 130 W 20th Street is in the upscale heart of Manhattan. Unit 1A echoes this as a bi-level unit with both a lower-level private patio and an expansive upper-level garden terrace. With hardwood floors and custom tile work throughout and oversized floor-to-ceiling windows, natural light floods this renovated, sleek apartment. Upon entering the unit, the spacious kitchen/living room area welcomes you. The chef’s style kitchen is an open layout with top of line Sub-Zero and Miele appliances and beverage fridge, marble waterfall countertops, and custom cabinetry. The living room has a large closet and is big enough for any layout. Two sets of doors connect you to the expansive garden terrace ready for entertaining friends and family with the best of outdoor living. The main floor primary bedroom comes with large windows overlooking the terrace and is equipped with custom, built-in cedar and oak closets and shelves. The spa-like ensuite is equipped with modern fixtures, reflexology tiling, and waterfall & body-spray shower and soaking tub. The double vanity provides exceptional space for two people. Off the living room is another renovated and modernized guest bathroom. The lower level offers space for another bedroom or TV den for entertaining and a home office area. Another half bath is located on this level with the option of installing a shower, making it a full bath - as is the in-unit washer and dryer. Double doors lead to the second outdoor living space lined with walls for privacy. The Prima Building offers a lounge, media room, and wet bar along with bike storage, a 24-hour doorman, gym, cold storage, and deeded personal storage garage. Located next to the neighborhood park, it’s within minutes of Greenwich Village, Meatpacking, and the shops, restaurants, bars, and clubs of Chelsea. Access to nine subway lines connects you to all of Manhattan and NYC, but living in a neighborhood like this will make it hard to want to leave.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
