Property Description for 8 Stuyvesant Ave

Classic charm and triple exposures on every floor make this a rare opportunity for owner occupants and investors alike. An owner/occupant can easily finish the basement with high ceilings to create additional usable space. Original details – like flooring, ceilings, and decorative fireplaces – have been retained. The community garden next door allows for more light to enter the building and more green views from each floor than most brownstones in Brooklyn. Additional FAR gives you plenty of room to grow! The lot is 110 feet deep and 22 feet wide.

The 22 foot wide property is comprised of three floor-through apartments: The bottom floor has two bedrooms, a living room, and a dining room and full access to the backyard. The parlor level has one bedroom, a living room, a dining room, and an office that could be made into a second bedroom. This level also has a private deck. The top floor has two bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, and an office. All three floors have high ceilings and the hallway skylight keeps the entryway bright.

Just around the corner from the M, J, and Z trains and some delicious pizza. Reach out to the seller’s agent to book an appointment for the open house.

Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
