Property Description for 68 Linden Street

Congratulations! You found the one! 68 Linden street is the perfect blend of exquisite design and modern conveniences, with a touch of luxury. At approximately 3500 sq ft, this 20-foot wide townhouse has an ideal layout, with an expansive owner’s triplex with four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms plus the bucolic backyard over a two-bedroom, 1-bath garden floor apartment. Designer finishes such as wide-plank white oak wood flooring, brass handles, handmade porcelain tile, soaring ceilings, and oversized windows make this home stand out. The renovated Chef’s kitchen is set on the grand parlor floor at the back of the house, against an all-glass casement window that opens onto the steel deck. The south-facing backyard has plenty of sunlight and space to grow your garden. Designed with custom shaker-style white cabinetry, stainproof quartz countertops, a WOLF oven, a microwave drawer, and a suite of Fisher Paykel appliances, including a paneled refrigerator, you’ll want to cook meals every night of the week while listening to your favorite jams on the built in Bluetooth-enabled speakers. Up the stairs is the primary bedroom suite with multiple roomy closets and an ensuite bathroom with a freestanding modern soaking tub surrounded by Italian marble and double vanity. There is a second bedroom on this floor with an attached bathroom. The top floor has multiple skylights letting in lots of natural light, two bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, and a designated laundry room. The finished basement has a new tiled floor and is conveniently connected to the owner’s triplex. The space is perfect as a media room, playroom, or home office. The house has a new HVAC system and a state-of-the-art video and intercom security system. If desirable, the upper triplex can be rented out for $8500 a month, making this home a perfect investment opportunity. The two-bedroom, one-bathroom garden apartment has the kitchen in front of the house, an open-plan living area, a full bathroom, and a washer and dryer. Both bedrooms are in the rear, away from the street so that you can sleep quietly throughout the night. Easily rent this unit for $3000 a month or keep it for visiting friends and family. Located off Bushwick avenue, a few blocks from Bedford Stuyvesant, you are in the most desirable location in Bushwick. Take a stroll down the street and see the latest street art. Hip art galleries and eclectic restaurants are opening up each day. Take the J/Z at Gates avenue, the M at Knickerbocker, or the L train at Myrtle-Wyckoff for an easy and quick commute to any part of the city. There are Citi bikes all around, just waiting to get you to all the nearby fantastic shops, restaurants, and cafes that this neighborhood has to offer.

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
