Property Description for 151 West 21st Street, PH-2

PENTHOUSE APARTMENT WITH A FABULOUS 400SF TERRACE PLUS TWO BALCONIES! The elevators open directly into this truly dramatic, private, full-floor penthouse. Your dream home awaits. Custom designed by Calderwood Interiors, this penthouse was originally two apartments, a three bedroom and a two bedroom, that was seamlessly combined to create this grand three bedroom, three and one half bathroom home along with a media room, a private 27’ x 14’ planted and fully irrigated terrace, plus two private 14’ balconies, at the highly sought-after boutique condominium, Chelsea Green. Upon entering this stunning home, you are greeted by a sun-drenched span of south facing floor-to-ceiling windows and New York City views, including The Freedom Tower. The gorgeous celebrity-chef designed, Eric Ripert for Poggenpohl kitchen, boasts a Caesarstone island, exceptionally appointed with Poggenpohl cabinetry, high-end appliances and a full-sized wine refrigerator. Right off the kitchen is direct access to a large “breakfast balcony.” Across seven-inch-wide plank Porcelanosa walnut floors, is a formal dining space and an expansive living room with direct access to the grand terrace, great for entertaining a number of guests. Adjacent to the living room, the custom bar is made from reclaimed wine barrels and has two built-in full-sized wine refrigerators, a refrigerator drawer, and a freezer drawer. The home office/library area has direct access to the third private outdoor space, and is next to the state-of-the-art media room, with an 85” UHD TV, Dolby surround sound, power recliner home theater chairs, with seating for nine, and acoustic fabric-covered walls and ceiling. The media room is a perfect spot to binge Netflix in the comfort of your own home. The oversized primary bedroom suite is replete with an enormous dressing room with a limestone island, custom wardrobe and shoe shelving units. An en-suite primary bathroom is outfitted with Calcutta marble, radiant floor heating, dual vanities, a steam shower, a deep Neptune soaking tub, a separate frameless glass shower, and Toto fixtures. Both the second and third bedrooms enjoy large walk-in closets and en-suite baths with radiant floor heating, as well. For your guests, there is a pristine powder room with a Kallista vanity and Phillip Jeffries Grasscloth Wallcovering. The home has two bio-ethanol fireplaces, so no dangerous fumes are emitted. The floor to ceiling wall behind the fireplace has Phillip Jefferies Real Stone Wallcovering. This amazing penthouse home is equipped with a Savant System with voice automation and Lutron-automated controls over lighting, shades, televisions and music. Chelsea Green, 151 West 21st Street, is a LEED Gold Certified building with a 24-hour doorman, concierge services, a landscaped common roof terrace, a fitness room, a treatment room, and a resident lounge with billiards. The unit comes with a large private storage space on the lower level, and bicycle storage is available. Pets are welcome!

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
