Property Description for 15 Central Park West, 5-A

Coveted A-line in the House at 15 Central Park West featuring 50-feet of Central Park Frontage
Available for the first time as a resale, this 4,577 square foot bespoke residence was thoughtfully designed by world-renowned British top interior designer Kelly Hoppen over the course of a 15 month period. Located in the House at 15 Central Park West, this 4 bedroom, 5.5 bathroom residence offers: quadruple exposure, an oversized living room overlooking Central Park and Columbus Circle, formal dining room that fits a grand piano, media room adjacent to the chef’s kitchen, and a home office off the primary bedroom.
Feel right at home as you enter this unique residence through a proper foyer which leads you to the central gallery. As described in Kelly Hoppen’s book, Ideas: Creating a Home for the Way You Live, “The entrance hall is a beautiful example of yin and yang in perfect balance. A Lustre Ovale bronze chandelier commissioned from Galerie Van der Straeten is suspended over a circular copper and lacquer table by Robert Kuo. The dark stained oak mirror on the silver-leaf wall reflects the space, increasing its size and emphasizing the strict masculine architecture, while giving glimpses of the rooms beyond.”
The corner expansive living room boasts a juliet balcony and exposures to the East and South facing Central Park and Columbus Circle. The room is adorned in a wall of ebonizing shelving with an electronic sliding screen that gives you the option of seeing the television or not. The room was designed to be formal for when you entertain and simultaneously comfortable so that you can truly relax. Per Kelly, “The two zones in this living-dining space are linked by color, tone, texture and the dark oak parquet flooring. The folding screen-like doors can be used to segregate the two spaces, and these tie in with the shelving.”
Also overlooking Central Park, the primary suite encompasses complete functionality and comfort with a decorative fireplace, two large walk-in closets and two separate primary en-suite bathrooms. The bedroom is adorned with Spina crystal chandeliers, suspended at lamp position on either side of the bed, to give the space sophistication. The larger of the primary bathrooms was purposely designed by Kelly Hoppen to provide the most recharging, vital experiences in this supremely calming space. The bathroom boasts a BainUltra deep soaking tub, separate steam shower, sinks by Antonio Lupi and Kohler and a Toto Neorest heated toilet/bidet. It was designed with lighting in mind that allows bespoke moods to be created. The designer used textural combinations to give the space a spa-like essence; mirror, the wall finish plus a stone sink and wooden storage integrated and balanced within the space in line with the grid.
To the right of the central gallery is the expansive windowed chef's kitchen, equipped with top-of-the-line appliances including a six-burner Gagganeau stove, range and hood, Gagganeau double wall ovens, two Miele dishwashers, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, double freezer drawers, wine fridge, ice maker, a Sharp microwave, and double sinks by Just. The kitchen opens to a more casual media room. This space is perfect for those weekend mornings that allow members of your household to prepare breakfast and spend time together in this open area.
The west side of the home consists of three well-proportioned bedrooms all with custom built-ins, en-suite bathrooms and ample closet space. An oversized hall closet and a laundry room conclude the wing. Additional features include: 9’10” ceilings, custom joinery outlining each doorway, a custom powder room outfitted in plasterwork on the walls and ceiling, and a Savant Home Automation system to control the temperature, audio, lighting and window shades.
A wine cellar and a storage unit are also available for sale.
Designed by world renowned architect Robert A.M. Stern, 15 Central Park West delivers an array of ultra luxury amenities: 24-hour doorman and concierge, on-site garage and motor court with reception staff, 14,000-square-foot fitness center with a 75-foot skylit indoor pool, steam and sauna, library, conference room, private theater, billiards room, children’s playroom and a private restaurant. A private storage unit is also available for purchase. Conveniently located across from Central Park, Lincoln Center, The Shops at Columbus Circle, Whole Foods Market and the world’s finest restaurants including Marea, Jean-Georges, Masa, Per Se and Asiate.

Central Park West | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Home to some of New York City’s most famous buildings like The Dakota, with its enchanting architecture, and the equally impressive San Remo just a couple streets away, Central Park West is one of the most eye-popping neighborhoods to live in.

It is historically renowned for its blending of architecture and residential living. So much so, that it earned a listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is thought to have some of the most diverse and beautiful skylines in all of New York and has drawn celebrity residents for decades

If world-class architecture isn’t enough for you, there are plenty of warm brownstones to be found as well. There is so much to do in Central Park West, the most obvious being in the name of the neighborhood itself. With Central Park running the length of one of its borders, there’s easy access to the park and all its wonders, running trails, row boats, and bridges. If you prefer the indoors, the American Museum of Natural History is at your service.

There are few places in the world that can match Central Park West’s varied combination of urban and residential charm, elegance, and spirit.
