Property Description for 65 West 13th Street, 7-A

This sprawling, turnkey loft is a dream home, perfectly located in the heart of Greenwich Village. With its gracious layout measuring ~2800 square feet, soaring 11 ft and 12 ft ceilings, and contemporary renovation, this is the one you've been waiting for. Enter a dramatic, 41-foot entry gallery, which perfectly divides the home's common rooms and private spaces. The grand living room is bathed in natural light with floor-to-ceiling windows, and enjoys open views north to Hudson Yards on the horizon. The open dining room can comfortably seat a large dinner party, but is also perfect for an intimate dinner at home. Built-ins and cabinetry throughout the living room and dining room add additional storage, elegantly hidden away. The open kitchen has a breakfast bar open to the dining room and island that also houses a large wine fridge, and was recently updated with top-of-the-line appliances from SubZero, Gaggenau, and Bosch. The quartzite countertops complete this contemporary look, and any home chef will love working in this kitchen. The flow from kitchen to dining room and living room is seamless. The appliances include large, side-by-side LG laundry machines in a double wide closet, located off the main hall, closer to the bedrooms for maximum convenience. Yes, the dryer vents out. The three quiet bedrooms, in their own separate wing, all face south and are discretely located away from the public spaces. The primary bedroom enjoys a huge custom-built closet in addition to regular storage cabinets and a newly renovated bathroom with double sink and glass-enclosed shower. The second and third bedrooms share a hall bathroom that is also newly renovated. Separating the bedrooms from the public spaces is a media room, perfect for building pillow forts or enjoying a movie at home, as well as a separate library/home office near the primary bedroom, with walls of sophisticated built-in shelving and cabinetry. This room also has an enormous storage closet. There is a fully renovated third bathroom, perfect for guests, off the entry foyer. The Greenwich was built in 1895 and is located in one of the most sought after neighborhoods. It is a full-service, pet-friendly condominium with a 24-hour doorman, live-in resident manager, fitness center, wonderfully landscaped roof deck, bike storage, children's playroom, and storage for purchase. 65 West 13th Street permits pied-a-terres and sublets. This fine building, in the heart of Greenwich Village, is just a stone's throw from Union Square and Washington Square Park, as well as the West Village and Meatpacking neighborhoods. Conveniently located to all major transportation, trendy shopping, and some of the best restaurants in the city.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
