Property Description for 380 Chauncey Street

380 Chauncey St was originally constructed in 1910. This newly renovated home is the perfect combination of high-end finishes, modern technology, and impeccable details, an honorable salute to its past. This townhouse is a two-family brick home that features 6 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, and 1 powder room. From wide plank white oak floors to original doors, arched windows, and a few nice touches such as exposed beams, attention to detail can be found throughout this well-appointed home. As you enter the owner’s four-bedroom duplex, you are greeted by a welcoming foyer with an original door. Stepping into this grand 55-foot parlor, you realize the breadth of space as the 10.5-foot ceilings let the light radiate throughout the open floor plan. To the right, a formal living room area with beautiful molding offers a great space for entertaining. Connecting the living room and kitchen is the grand 6-person dining room table ready to take on any type of gathering. In the back, a perfectly appointed kitchen features a four-seat island, custom white cabinetry, and quartz countertops. With a farmhouse sink and a full complement of appliances including a Fisher Paykel paneled refrigerator, Wolf five-burner stove, and microwave drawer, this kitchen is a chef’s dream. At the end of this ultra-deep house is a thoughtfully designed powder room and second sitting/dining area. Upstairs you find four bedrooms and two full baths. The elegant primary bedroom faces the serene backyard gardens and features three windows and two large closets. The primary bath is adorned with marble tiled floors, a tasteful double vanity, a glass-enclosed rain shower, and a freestanding bathtub. As you head down the hall, you pass the marble-tiled second bathroom adjacent to three comfortable bedrooms. Lastly, there is a staircase that leads you upstairs which provides roof access that gives you views for days. From the built-in sound system to the restored newel, this home offers a perfect blend of new technology and original charm. The separate garden floor two-bedroom unit can serve as an income-producing property or in-law apartment that gives you access to the lush backyard garden. Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
