Property Description for 324 West 23rd Street, 7-A

Step into this unique and rarely available penthouse duplex with north- and south-facing exposures and three large private terraces. Located in The Colonnade, a discreet condominium in West Chelsea, this 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom residence is a one-of-a-kind opportunity with spectacular views.

Upon entering the expansive first floor, you are greeted with an abundance of natural light that streams through the double height windows and solarium overhead, purposefully showcasing one of the residence's prized features - open city views. The living area's central focal point is a gas-burning fireplace, creating a cozy atmosphere and an ideal home to entertain guests, setting a spectacular ambiance in both the daytime and evening hours. A terrace spans the length of the apartment, with jaw dropping views of the city and the stunning architecture of St. Paul's Church nearby. Located off of the living space is a large chef's kitchen with abundant counter space and storage, and a library with ensuite bath that can be used as a bedroom or guest room.

The sleeping quarters are tucked away on the opposite side of the apartment: three spacious bedrooms, two of which are enhanced by terraces and ensuite bathrooms. An alcove along the hallway houses additional storage and laundry.

The second level of the home opens to a landing that overlooks the double-height living space. The generous primary suite boasts a spacious layout with two large walk-in closets and spa-quality primary bathroom. Located off the north of the primary suite is 900+ square foot terrace with luscious greenery and iconic Empire State Building views. On the south of the primary is another sweeping terrace - the perfect place to lay out with views of the Freedom Tower and downtown Manhattan.

The Colonnade is a boutique pre-war condominium building with 11 units. The building has a virtual doorman system and laundry room; a new elevator and renovated lobby have recently been completed. Minutes away from the Highline, Hudson River Park, countless art galleries, restaurants and bars. Enjoy the neighborhood's convenient location within close proximity to a Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, and easy access to public transportation with the C/E trains half a block away.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
