Property Description for 1118 Greene Ave

Don't settle for less with this beautiful solid-brick Townhouse in bustling Bushwick!
This classic stunner was originally submitted for the specification of a "Brick Building" in 1890. Original documents show that the architect was Frederick Weber.

Despite its historical significance, 1118 Greene Avenue has been thoroughly updated for modern, discerning tastes. The open, airy floor plan is drenched in natural light throughout the day. The main living space tips its hat to the past with rustic exposed brick walls and wood timber ceiling joists. A bordered diagonal oak hardwood floor adds a bit of character to the interior design, and classic white trim ties the room together. Dazzling 12 ft ceilings further emphasize the vastness of the great room. The living area flows seamlessly into a generously appointed kitchen. The space is a chef's dreamscape with state-of-the-art Wolf and Viking stainless steel appliances. A waterfall island combines thoughtful design with functionality and features a stainless apron sink for extra prep space and entertainment seating. The upper level of the home features multiple closets, a sizable master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and two additional bedrooms. Another full bathroom provides privacy and convenience for both family and guests. The rustic meets modern design also continues throughout the second floor. Central heating and cooling keep the space cozy year-round.

Earn extra income from an expansive, high income producing two bedroom rental. Featuring modern finishes, stainless steel appliances with decorative fireplace and laundry in unit.

Moving outside, oversized sliding doors lead to the rear deck and provide another abundant light source. The home boasts a manicured backyard - perfect for relaxing after long day at work. There's plenty of room to bask in the sunlight or chill in the shade.

1118 Greene Avenue is part of the increasingly popular Bushwick neighborhood. This bustling area is home to local favorites such as Sunrise/Sunset, Cup of Brooklyn, Zatar, Fat Doughnut, The Buren and Hartbreakers and many more! The J, Z, and M trains are also close by. Your chance to own piece of prime Bushwick is here!

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
