Property Description for 221 McDonald Ave, 1-E

OPEN HOUSE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY Spectacular fully renovated, oversized 2BR/1BA with enormous private terrace in one of the most well maintained and well located coops in Windsor Terrace. Tasteful and generously proportioned, featuring an expansive and show stopping chef’s kitchen with breakfast bar, an abundance of walnut cabinetry and gleaming white quartz countertops, it is the perfect gathering space or just right for grabbing a bowl of cereal before dashing off. The separate windowed dining area means you can leave the breakfast bar for a proper sit down meal at dinner time and the discreetly tucked away office nook allows you to send off emails in between bites. The two king sized bedrooms are both quiet and serene, facing your own terrace and the backyards of Brooklyn beyond. Both bedrooms are expansive with lovely soft sunlight and the primary bedroom offers access to what is one of the stars of this apartment - the huge private patio. With more than enough space for a kiddie pool, play station, sit down dining AND barbecue, the terrace literally functions as your own backyard. Summer months will be forever transformed. The building is 100% owner occupied with a live-in super, common courtyard, storage (subject to waiting list and xtra fee), bike storage and recreation room. Your monthly maintenance INCLUDES all utilities including electric, cable and internet. While cats are welcome, unfortunately dogs are not allowed. Appreciate easy access to Prospect Park, the subway, local elementary school, library, playground and Greenwood Cemetery. Just moments away from Steeplechase, Brancaccios, Batata, Hamiltons and Jaya Yoga. A very special find in a very special place.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
