Property Description for 439 East 51st Street, 3-A

BACK ON THE MARKET!

Incredible opportunity to own a classic seven at the coveted Beekman Mansion. Timeless details live on in this European style gem nestled on a quiet, tree lined block in Sutton Place. If you want an apartment that feels like a home, and has classic elegance blended with modern amenities, then this is it.

Upon entering the apartment, you are greeted by a beautiful, bright foyer with plenty of closet and storage space. The apartment then leads into the exquisite south facing living room- a large but intimate space. Three huge casement windows offer great views of the tree lined streets and East river. High ceilings, oak herringbone style floors, and the magnificent operational marble fireplace make this room incredibly special.

Those same details continue into the formal dining room. The dining room has matching herringbone floors, big windows, and flows great. Adjacent to the dining room is the modern chef's kitchen. Complete with top-of-the-line Subzero and Miele appliances, the kitchen is truly a chef's kitchen. Gas burning stove with an overhead vent, Subzero refrigerator, wine cooler, multiple sinks, and abundant counter and cabinet space.

The primary bedroom is big, bright, and has a walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom. Endless closet space and all new built in custom cabinetry highlight this room. The bathroom was gut renovated in 2017 and is very bright and modern. All of the other bedrooms can easily fit queen size beds and each have 2-3 closets in them.

The Beekman Mansion is a full-time doorman co-op located in the highly desired Beekman area. Full-service building which includes a 24-hour doorman, live-in super, laundry rooms, and storage. One of Manhattan's best kept secrets. 65% financing permitted, pied a-terres allowed & pets are welcome.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
