Property Description for 360 West 22nd Street, 9-L

Welcome to apartment 9L at the beautiful London Towne House in the heart of Chelsea. No expense was spared in the gut renovation completed by the current unit owners. Upon entering the apartment you are greeted by a lovely entrance hallway equipped with abundant closet space as well as plenty of wall space for artwork or family photos. The living and dining room have an open concept, yet the space is large enough to create two completely separate areas. The windowed kitchen is a home cook’s dream, equipped with all top-of-the-line appliances. The primary bedroom can easily fit a king sized bed and also features a very large walk-in closet. The windowed limestone and marble bathroom has a deep soaking tub as well as heated floors. Bathrooms in the L line generally have walk-in showers only, making this a unique feature of this apartment. Currently being utilized as a media room/office space, the second bedroom can easily be transformed back into its original layout with little to no construction needed of any kind. This sun blasted corner apartment has windows in every room, including the kitchen and bathroom, with unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline. London Towne House is a highly desirable full-service cooperative situated on the corner of West 22nd Street and 9th Avenue in a prime Chelsea location. Built in the 1963, the building consists of 217 units, with a mix of studios, one, two, and three bedrooms. Upper floor western-facing units have expansive views of West Chelsea, the Highline, and the Hudson River and northern-facing apartments have views of landmarked brownstones, tree-lined west 22nd Street, and the midtown skyline. Building amenities include 24 hour doorman, live in super, full staff including porters, basement laundry, bike storage, and a newly installed roof deck with panoramic city views opened in the summer of 2011. There is also a parking garage with 44 spaces, which is owned and controlled by the sponsor. The building is well managed, pet friendly, and considered one of the best coops in Chelsea.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
