Indulge your need for space over three wide and extra deep floors with high ceilings and incredible light, including South-facing views from one of the highest points in Brooklyn allowing for skyline and treetop views from both your lush private garden and all the rooms in the back of this home. The garden alone will amaze with its rich carpet of grass, perennials and trees, and extra space for grilling and playing. A bucolic front garden sets this home back from the street affording privacy and quiet. Head inside into the extra deep parlor floor with a formal living room in front, eat-in kitchen and dining, and a unique casual sitting room in the back off the garden with windows on multiple sides. The oversized living room offers up bay windows, a real woodburning fireplace with a mid-century modern inspired gray Quartz mantle, and even includes space for a baby grand piano. The windowed kitchen and dining area is the perfect juxtaposition of old and new with its rustic backdrop of exposed brick perfectly complemented by modern flat-front custom German cabinetry, a suite of professional Miele appliances including a 5-burner cooktop, wall oven, steam oven, built-in coffee maker, wine storage, and a 42" Gaggenau fridge, plus a wall of custom pantry space for every cooking need. The space conveniently allows for a large dining table and is illuminated throughout by designer pendants and the utility of LED spots. A discrete powder room on this floor is perfectly located for guests. Plan to stretch out and relax daily in the super sunny sitting room in the back, perfect for your media needs or a playroom. Head upstairs to four bedrooms, all with spacious closets that have been customized by California Closets. An oversized Primary suite features a large walk-in closet plus a super stylish 5-fixture bath that includes a soaking-style bathtub, a glass-enclosed double shower with a ceiling mounted rainhead shower, and a double vanity. Each of the three full bathrooms in this home feature radiant heated floors and a sophisticated combination of classic penny and subway tiles in tasteful hues that appeal to all tastes. The lower level/English basement of this home has been completely renovated to the same exacting-standards as the upper two levels and includes an additional bedroom/bathroom suite, perfect for a nanny or guest, plus a large windowed room that makes a great hang-out room/home gym/media room, an additional enclosed home office with glass doors perfect for musicians or writers, a real laundry room with utility sink, and a full wall of custom millwork closets where you can put everything away. Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
