Property Description for 405 West 23rd Street, 3-J

Longing for a breath of fresh air? Stepping into Apartment 3J at 405 West 23rd St, you'll immediately feel a sense of relaxation as you see the greenery through the front windows. While nature graced us with that perk, as you walk into the living room, you'll see that the interiors evoke that same sense of calm. Each surface has been carefully chosen to convey both warmth and luxury, starting with the brand-new oak flooring simply polished and coated to bring out the natural grain, and adding additional light to the room.

The large sleeping alcove feels like a bedroom yet leaves a wide-open living room, large enough for a full-size dining table, sofa, and functional furnishing. Natural southern light fills the apartment year-round, and you'll enjoy watching the trees changing colors throughout the seasons.

Stepping into the kitchen, you'll find patterned ceramic flooring and Silestone quartz countertops and backsplash along with custom cabinetry with under cabinet lighting. The chef in you will enjoy the Haier Range with microwave above, Liebherr refrigerator, and Bosch dishwasher as well as plenty of counter space and storage.

Moving into the dressing area, you'll fall in love with the Linen finish California Cabinets wrapping both walls, providing flexible storage for clothing and sundries. The adjacent bathroom is sheathed in all new white tile and patterned flooring and has a deep new tub and shower with dedicated lighting, a new mirrored medicine cabinet, and an additional 5' high storage cabinet recessed in the wall behind the door. You'll notice updated dimmer-controlled lights above the sink and in the shower, providing the perfect setting for a luxurious bath.

The attention to detail goes behind the walls too! Updated electric with dimmer switches everywhere you turn. And not only were the all the walls double skim-coated to enhance their appearance, but as part of the gut renovation, the walls, ceiling, and floor were fully insulated and soundproofed (the apartment above also has soundproofed flooring as well) per recent NYC building code, keeping the apartment temps stable and even throughout the apartment. Also, new plumbing and electric were added in compliance with building and government requirements.

Now on to the fun stuff! Your maintenance includes all utilities (heat, water, and electricity) as well as use of the half Olympic-size heated pool, and steam rooms and saunas in both the men's and women's locker room area. The 3000' health club is just $400 annuallyyup, your read that right, annually! You can enjoy its free classes and bring in your trainer or hire from within.

The parking garage is complimented by free street parking on weekends and evenings along 23rd Street. Come for a tour of this famed centerpiece of historic Chelsea with The Queen of London Terrace Towers.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
