Property Description for 39 East 10th Street, 2-E

Charming, elegant, and pristine.Don't miss out on the rare opportunity to reside in a luxury home custom-designed by a celebrated interior designer whose work has graced the covers of industry magazines such as Elle Decor. This sophisticated residence effortlessly incorporates contemporary sensibility and style while embracing its original pre-war details.

Top-tier craftsmanship and superior finishes distinguish this gut renovation, which artfully embodies a luxurious downtown living experience. Impressive details include solid oak herringbone floors, restored crown moldings and archways, two wood-burning fireplaces, Venetian plaster ceilings, and exposed brick.

Enter the sun-filled living room through french doors, and dine with bespoke furnishings such as a Paul McCobb dining table and Italian 1960s dining chairs. Or, revel in the grand entertainment space. The chef's kitchen features Carrera marble countertops and custom cabinets with Bosch & Jenn Air SS appliances and directly opens into the living room, featuring a custom Antonson chandelier, a new upholstered Donghia sofa, original oil on canvas quadriptych, and numerous antiques spanning centuries and continents.

Beyond the kitchen is the private master suite, featuring a Vispring king bed, a large walk-in closet, a Louis XV writing desk, and a master bath that offers a unique spa-like experience --enjoy the oversized claw foot tub, hand-laid floor mosaic, and marble-clad dual vanity.

This pin drop quiet and lavish home is a testament to the exquisite design. However, it's a rare find not only for its interior but its prime location. Situated in Greenwich Village, 39 East 10 is encompassed by an extraordinary neighborhood of tree-lined streets, stately historic homes, exquisite boutiques, restaurants, and nightlife. Hailed as the Gold Coast, it is arguably one of the most desirable locales.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
