Property Description for 55 Vestry Street, 6-C

Modern Designer Luxury. Prime Tribeca Charm. Gut renovated down to the studs and fully reimagined by designer Jen Insardi, who was most recently named the 2022 Mort Abelson New Designer of the Year. Bespoke details and state-of-the-art technology punctuate this designer condo, a sprawling 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home graced with meticulous customizations and a private balcony in the heart of Tribeca. Shimmering rays of natural light spill through oversized arched windows, accentuating beautiful wide plank Siberian white oak floors, airy 10-ft ceilings, gallery-style walls, designer light fixtures, and custom built-ins. Infrastructural upgrades include brand new HVAC units with diffuser ceiling slots and the relocation of all floor radiators directly into walls to reclaim space in each room. A high-end Savant home automation system offers precision control of temperature, integrated surround sound speakers throughout, lighting, Lutron shades, and video security from anywhere in the world. Private storage and bicycle parking are included. A private key-locked elevator spills residents into a welcoming foyer with custom millwork and shoe and coat closets. Beyond the foyer lies a massive 40-ft open-concept living room, dining room, and kitchen saturated with northern light. The kitchen is adorned with a waterfall eat-in island, imported Madreperola quartzite countertops, custom Poggenpohl and Minotti-inspired cabinets, and a suite of fully-integrated high-end appliances from Wolf, Miele, and Sub-Zero. There is also an incredible 300-bottle wine cellar with a smoked glass frontage and painted cork wallpaper. A powder room off of the kitchen is perfectly placed for when hosting guests, and features a custom pocket door that separates the two sides of the apartment for easy entertaining. Spacious and bright, the primary bedroom has an arched window with solar shades and Empire State Building views, a custom-built walk-in closet, an additional reach-in closet, and a spa-like en-suite bathroom with alluring Gold Calcutta marble slabs, a custom double vanity with vessel sinks and sleek Dornbracht fixtures, a deep soaking tub, and a walk-in Hansgrohe water sculpture rain shower. The second bedroom has a private en-suite, while the third and fourth bedrooms have huge closets and easy access to a third full bathroom. One of the bedrooms can easily be used as a family room or home office. It has a lovely balcony with Italian porcelain tiling. A laundry room with Ann Sacks tiling, built-in storage, and an oversized side-by-side Whirlpool washer/dryer completes the home. A former 19th-century warehouse, The Fairchild is a boutique condominium nestled on a charming cobblestone street in the Tribeca North Historic District. The building has a full-time door attendant, concierge service, and a refrigerated package room for groceries. It is moments from trendy restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops, and it is close to SoHo, Hudson Square, and Piers 25 and 26 along the Hudson River Greenway. Nearby subway lines include the 1/6/A/C/E/N/Q/R/W/J/Z. Pets are welcome.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
