Property Description for 133 Water Street, 2-F

Unparalleled luxury, meticulously designed and renovated by noted Brooklyn architect John Hatheway. This 3BR/2BA plus office condo, with private outdoor space and available parking for sale, has everything you need to expand, breathe and settle down. Located in the heart of bustling Dumbo yet pin drop quiet inside, the recent high end renovation includes stunning, contiguous wide plank flooring, a gorgeous Bulthaup B3 custom kitchen with Thermador, Meile and Bosch appliances and completely reconstructed ceiling air ducts to allow for increased ceiling height throughout. The stunning kitchen is outfitted with an abundance of storage along with a sleek walnut breakfast bar and engineered concrete countertops. The star of the show is the custom-built walnut and glass semi-enclosed den that can be used as a private office or a den, perfect for watching Sunday night football games. The soundproofed glass means that no one else can hear you cheering when the Giants win. Alternatively if you choose, this versatile extra room can be taken down to allow for more open living as the floors run underneath and very little modification is needed. Please see alternate floor plan. The three bedrooms are all large and feature excellent custom closets. The primary bedroom is especially spacious with a custom fitted double door closet. Step out onto your own 280 square foot private terrace for a nightcap. Enjoy true luxury bathrooms, all complete with Vitabath soaking tubs, Toto toilets, and Restoration Hardware appliances. Closet space is plentiful throughout the entire apartment and the washer dryer is tucked away conveniently near the second bath, but can easily be moved to the vented storage closet. Building amenities are plentiful and include the jaw dropping views from the recently renovated shared roof deck, part-time doorman, full-time super, fitness center, children's playroom, bike room, cold storage and parking garage with available spots for purchase. At your fingertips: Brooklyn Bridge Park, restaurants, shopping, cafes, A/C/F subways, water ferry, and all that amazing Dumbo has to offer.

Dumbo | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

DUMBO, which is an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, used to be a lively industrial and manufacturing zone, full of large factories and warehouses. These buildings have now been converted into expansive lofts, theaters, galleries, and office spaces for start-up companies. These larger residential spaces are attractive to families and creative artists and writers who need space to dream and create.

DUMBO was named in 1978 as a sort of reverse marketing ploy to try to keep people from swarming into the area, attracted by the quaint tree-lined streets, elegant historic brownstones, large lofts, and views of Lower Manhattan. It was felt that this influx of people would change the nature of the neighborhood. It was hoped that by giving the area a ridiculous name, nobody would want to live there.

Many of the neighborhood’s bars, hotels, and restaurants capitalize on the stunning waterfront views and the Manhattan skyline in the background. Interesting and fun cultural events are held under and around the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges that connect DUMBO to Manhattan. One of these is the annual Oktoberfest.

With beautiful vignettes of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges being framed around every corner, DUMBO provides residents and tourists with charming, and often surprising, views. Because the neighborhood is eminently walkable and filled with unique shops, it feels like a small town on the edge of a major urban waterfront. Once people move to DUMBO, they tend to stay and become involved in the community.
