Property Description for 405 West 23rd Street, 8-IL

TIRED OF THE NOISE OF THE CITY? SICK OF BEING BATHED ON THE SOUND OF SIRENS WHILE ON A BUSINESS CALL OR MEDITATING? Apartment 8-IL will give you the quiet you long for while you enjoy the north light through walls of windows! Stepping inside this spacious home you'll immediately recognize the luxurious benefits of owning a fully renovated double studio. Offering you a more commodious living space than the average one bedroom apartment in the amenity rich London Terrace Towers, Apartment 8-IL is a double-cut above the norm. Have you seen anything that "Remotely" fills your dreams of an over-sized one bedroom with two full baths and a windowed office? Apartment 8-IL provides that and more, with an open kitchen adjacent to the dining area, all lit and ventilated by a wall of windows. The stone counters and raised serving bar is surrounded with zebra wood cabinetry and complimented by all the appliance brands you covet...Fisher Paykel Dishwasher, Miele stove, plus two refrigerator drawers, freezer with ice maker, and a abundantly sized wine refrigerator. The generously proportioned living room invites you to spread out with friends or enjoy a quiet evening of relaxation...and adding an "occasional guest" area is a breeze given the configuration of walls. Whether you order in from one of our many local restaurants or prepare the fresh delicacies found at Chelsea Market, Eataly, or the Whole Foods at Hudson Yards you're certainly to feel right at home. Walking down the gallery walled hallway you'll encounter the guest bath. Each full sized bathroom is replete with a rain shower plus hand shower with Duravit fixtures, and while the front bath offers a 5' walk-in shower with pebble base the one closest to the primary suite comes replete with a deep soaking tub. Both are sheathed in wall-to-wall marble and offer an excess of storage options both within the vanity and recessed in the wall. You'll love the custom lighting throughout, both recessed and surface mounted. No detail was overlooked in this top of the line renovation, including all new window fittings, refinished original oak flooring throughout, and one of the most cherished options here at London Terrace, both front doors have been stripped down to the original steel. Looking for more closets and storage? In addition to the creatively designed kitchen you'll find two large closets adjacent to the baths, one for outerwear and the other...well, does a utility closet float your boat, or a seasonal coat closet? You have lots to consider, given that your bedroom includes a giant walk-in closet 6' by 6', fully outfitted to meet your every need. Your 5' 7' windowed office offers plenty of room for an open, breathable work space where you can store your printer, files, or even gym equipment if you'd prefer to have it function with dual purposes. The remote controlled blackout shades are great for lazy days or after long nights. Of course you might opt for utilizing two of our most coveted amenities: The half Olympic pool offers the best workout you can get, with plenty of room in the lanes, locker rooms with Steam rooms and Saunas. Our 3000' gym, just $400 ANNUALLY!!, is completely outfitted with state of the art equipment, including Peloton bikes and stair climbers, as well as an open floor for classes. Back to relaxing, you'll want to race to the roof deck weather permitting for the most sensational 360 views of the city. Parking is available downstairs and run by an outside provider. So, don't delay fulfilling your dreams. Call the 'Queen of London Terrace' for a personalized tour from someone whose lived there for 20 years!.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
