Property Description for 1 Beekman Place, 8-C

Beautiful 3 Bedroom Co-Op in Historic Beekman Place Building.

Direct skyline views over the East River command the attention in the living room and two of the spacious bedrooms. High ceilings and huge windows flood every room with an abundance of light, illuminating beautifully crafted vintage architectural detail. The elegant, spacious layout features graceful arches and an exquisite checkered floor that catches your eye immediately upon entering and continues into the central gallery.

Directly ahead through the gallery is a sunny home library, perfect for lounging and relaxing. Off the gallery to the right, you’ll find the home’s enormous living room, where breathtaking views take center stage, flanked by a wood-burning fireplace and tall built-in shelves. Through the gallery to the left, the formal dining room has ample room and the perfect atmosphere for entertaining, with oversized windows; attached is a big, charming eat-in kitchen. This incredibly bright space adds a welcome element of coziness to the historic home.

One Beekman Place is one of Manhattan’s most prestigious pre-war co-ops, a white glove luxury building built in 1929 by the Rockefellers. Residents enjoy access to multiple lounges, an indoor basketball court, a gym, and a swimming pool on top of the standard amenities package – elevator, doorman, private storage, and garage parking. The building is pet friendly. Contact us to learn more about this exclusive opportunity – we’d love to schedule a private tour.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
