Birdsong! This sweet, turnkey one family home with an oversized backyard in the heart of Windsor Terrace, steps from Prospect Park, will charm and delight you. The juxtaposition of old world charm combined with modern conveniences make this home unique. The living room is really a double parlor – with 4 bay windows at the front of the home bringing in beautiful light. It has original tiger’s oak columns with arches that separate the two parlors. Antique lighting fixtures and French doors with arches add to the dream in both the living room and the dining room. The dining room is large with beautiful tin ceilings and is open to the sunny eat-in- renovated kitchen where your inner chef will run wild! The kitchen is fresh and white, and is appointed with a farmhouse sink, plentiful cabinetry, Caesarstone counters, and a pretty blue backsplash. The large island adds to your cooking ease and provides storage and room to seat four. There is a Bosch stainless steel dishwasher, a new stainless steel microwave, and an LG fridge. An archway leads you into a separate, large pantry area – with storage on both sides and windows in the center. There are 4 additional windows plus the windowed doors that lead to the backyard. There is a spacious, beautifully renovated half bath on this level, with gorgeous wallpaper, subway tiles and granite counters with white cabinetry, black fixtures. black and white tile flooring and a window. Laundry is also within. The verdant backyard is a dream. Extra deep and 17’ wide, it features both beautiful landscaping and hardscaping, done in 2018. There is plenty of space to grill, eat and relax in the great outdoors here. Walk upstairs to find three bedrooms and one full bath. The primary bedroom is at the front of the house with 4 bay windows, picture frame moldings and a large closet. It’s a lovely retreat. The current owners use the windowed alcove room – generally an office, or nursery room, as their walk-in closet. The middle room is eclectic and fun! With a skylight and green and white botanical wallpaper, this is a room to love. Measuring 10’2” by 11’, this easily accommodates either a twin bed or a queen, though set up as an office. The spacious back bedroom has two large windows and a closet, with a modern ceiling fan light fixture. The main bath on this level was renovated/restored and has a claw foot tub, a window, modern gray slate floor tiles and subway tiled walls. There is a pedestal sink and a large mirrored vanity, along with a window. Details include columns and archways, original large board pine floors, beautiful French doors with arches, an original distressed newel post opposite chic wallpaper, cove ceilings, a skylight and picture frame moldings throughout many rooms in the house. The basement is unfinished – and can be used simply for storage as the current owners do, or you can use your vision to finish to your taste. The mechanicals are in excellent condition. There is a new boiler, a new hot water heater, new electrical in virtually the entire home, the windows were all replaced, and there is a copper water main. This is a unique home in Windsor Terrace, in a superb location. It’s a half block to Prospect Park, and is around the corner from all the amenities and eateries on Prospect Ave, including: Le Paddock, Cena, Adirondack Tavern, Della’s, Poetica Café, Juicebox Spirits and more. Prospect Park delights with all its year-round activities — the Summer Concert series, the Lake, roller skating, boating, ice skating, barbecues, guided nature walks, cycling, the Bat tour — making it the gem of the borough. The Parade Grounds and Tennis Center are nearby. Additional dining options abound on Prospect Park West and in nearby Park Slope. And all the shopping on Prospect Avenue and Prospect Park West are within a few block radius. Don’t miss the weekly Fresh Air Market at Bartell Pritchard Square every Wednesday and Sunday! Transportation? Easy — the F/G lines are a couple of short blocks away. Come take a look - you'll want to make this your own.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
