First time on the market. Your Own Private Oasis

Dramatic & Spacious Loft-Like Home full of character and history. Come home to this serene and spacious top floor sanctuary brimming with light. You can finally relax, see the sky and tree tops..and hear birds right outside your window.

303 East 8th Street is one of the first artist created coops in the East Village. It is a handsome and historic 6 story turn-of-the-century building (with 12 large apartments) located on a quiet tree-lined street which dead-ends at historic Tompkins Square Park. With ceilings over 10 feet high, this open and airy top floor 2 BR home has hardwood floors, original brick walls, your own W/D, plus13 large windows with 3 exposures (North, South, West). With its flexible floor plan, it can be easily expanded into a 3 or 4 Bedroom home.

A wide entry gallery leads you into the expansive Great Room spanning from one end of the apt. to the other - almost 45 feet long, with high ceilings and beautiful natural light. A sunny and open kitchen plus huge Dining Area (with space for a table seating for 12 or more) is to your right, and to your left is a Gallery and enormous Living Room with plenty of nooks for a media room, home office, yoga/exercise area, painting or music studio or home for your pet. There is also plenty of wall space for your art or photography collection, as well as shelving for showing off your albums, ceramic ware, Leggo creations or more "eclectic" hobbies.
The Primary Bedroom is quiet and serene, the second Bedroom has 2 windows with tree-top views to the East, and the spacious windowed bathroom has southern exposure with a huge storage closet.

Enjoy life in this vibrant and hip downtown community, with a variety of restaurants, neighborhood shops, theatres, galleries and more than 7 Community Gardens.
Avenue B has an amazing mix of long standing neighborhood cafes, restaurants and music venues along with other eclectic shops.
The East Village is definitely a Foodies delight: close to the new Essex Street Market, Whole Foods, Union Market, Trader Joe's, Russ and Daughters, as well as all the unique neighborhood food stores. Some of the neighborhood restaurants include: Uluh, C&B Cafe, Abraco, Zaragoza Grocery, Veselka, Katz's and Divya's Kitchen, just to name a few.
With historical Tompkins Square Park across the way, you'll have plenty of green space, a doggie park, two playgrounds a handball court, chess tables, a basketball court and a terrific Green Market where you can buy organic vegetables, fish, fruit, and fresh flowers from local farmers.. Another historic neighbor is the beautiful St. Bridget's Church right on the corner which has remained a strong cornerstone of the LES community since l848.
Imagine being able to enjoy everything NYC has to offer, and then coming home to peace and quiet and a welcoming coop community. It's a dream come true.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
