Property Description for 407 East 12th Street, 4-FNW

An alluring, exquisitely renovated, sun splashed and spacious, 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom top-floor duplex awaits you in the heart of the East Village.

Take the elevator up to the 4th floor landing of this boutique condominium, and enter into the stunning, open plan space with refinished hardwood floors and recessed lighting throughout. Located in the quiet, back of the building and overlooking the condo's communal garden along with tree-top and blue-sky views, a feeling of tranquility abounds amidst the bright Eastern light. The newly redone kitchen was made for the home chef in mind with Wolf range, XO hood, Miele fridge and dishwasher, Kraus farmhouse sink, and soapstone countertops and backsplash. The flowing plan gives way to the comfortable dining area, and the living room with a built in bookshelf is basked in sun along a wall of 3 oversized windows.

Head up the stairs and around the smartly placed deep storage closet and notice the loft-style double height ceilings welcoming you to the top floor. First lies the just renovated powder room, with the newly finished full bathroom at the end of the hall adjacent to the LG washer/dryer. Both bathrooms feature Nero Marquina marble floors, custom teak cabinetry, and Kohler and Grohe fixtures, with a deep soaking tub and rain shower gracing the main bathroom. The primary bedroom feels like a sanctuary with ample room for a king-sized bed, dresser, and a cozy reading nook by another wall of 3 Eastern facing windows. The second bedroom has striking 18-foot ceilings with a skylight plus a Northern exposure. Video intercoms on each level provide added convenience.

407 East 12th Street is a 27-unit, elevator condominium with a lovely interior courtyard and fountain, common roof deck, basement storage, and full-time Super. Set amongst a tree-lined block yet in the middle of all the East Village offers, including Tompkins Square Park, Trader Joes and Whole Foods, the countless fantastic restaurants and shops, and quick access to the L train or the numerous transportation options at Union Square. Cats permitted, dogs by approval.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
