Property Description

Picturesque, quiet, garden view apartment at the coveted Sutton House! No need for window units obscuring the lovely view as the apartment has through-the-wall AC. This spacious convertible-2 has a very open layout with the kitchen overlooking the substantial living room. Dark, long board can be found throughout the living space, with other nice details such as additional overhead lighting and built-in bookcases. The bathroom features a walk-in shower and marble tile. The bedroom is large and features a full wall of built-in closets. The cherry on the cake is the welcome anomaly of a washer/dryer, which is usually only reserved for larger apartments in the building. (Bedroom virtually staged)

The Sutton House is a wonderful full-service building featuring 24-hour doorman, parking garage (with EV chargers), gym, large laundry room, children’s playroom, bike room, and additional storage. All of this on Midtown’s most beautiful cul-de-sac street overlooking the East River! Pets are welcome. Located only 3 blocks from the subway (E, M, 6), one block from Peter Detmold dog park, and surrounded by many fantastic restaurants, as well as easy access to the FDR. The extension of the East River promenade is also expected to open soon around the corner on 54th Street. Six block walk to Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s.

One Bed in Beekman Place

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
