Property Description for 350 West 23rd Street, PH-B

Centrally-located near all of Chelsea’s most iconic spots – The Highline, Hudson River Park, Chelsea Market, the Chelsea Piers Sports Complex, Whole Foods and, of course, The Chelsea Art Gallery District, this stunning penthouse is for rent the first time ever. Penthouse B is an expansive full-floor residence, with 2,541 square feet of interior space and over 700 square feet of setback terraces. The key-lock elevator opens directly to the Living Room graced by a working gas fireplace and access to a North terrace. In the modern architectural idiom, the living spaces are open, with clean lines traversing North to South with open views and terrific light from the South, West, and North. (Strictly speaking, this residence has four exposures, those to the East having lot-line windows.) The Kitchen could not be better what with Wolf and Subzero appliances, a 12-foot caesar stone countertop and perfect for entertaining as it has direct access to the southern terrace and its hooked-up gas grill. A 60+ bottle wine fridge is built-in, and there is a separate area which can act as a pantry-workspace. The countertop has stools and there is a two-sided built in banquette awaiting your dining table. The terraces are landscaped with automatic drip irrigation, custody of which is provided by the owner. Very thoughtfully laid-out, this home has total separation between the bedroom wing and the living space. Two bedrooms face North with walls of windows, open views and terrific constant “artists’” northern light. A windowed home office, can be used as a 4th bedroom but, due to the lot-line window, cannot be represented as such. The Primary Bedroom faces south with a wall of windows giving oft nto its own setback terrace, and has glorious city views (as does the LR). Excellent closet space. The Master Bath and Powder Room off the Living Room have just been gut-renovated. The new owners have a Savant™ audiovisual system throughout the space, having three LCD screens and built-in speakers throughout. This system can be access by remotes and smart phones. The apartment is sprinklered throughout and is monitored centrally. This condominium enjoys 9 to 5 doorman service with a virtual doorman on the off-hours. There is space for two bicycles in a separate locked area, directly accessible from the apartment by elevator to the basement. FRESHLY PAINTED. It can honestly be said that there is no better penthouse with large outdoor space in an intimate building in Chelsea. Standard condo board package review.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
