Property Description for 67-69 Saint Nicholas Ave, 6

Walk into this stunning, down to the studs renovation that is breathtaking. Every corner of this unit has been meticulously thought out and created into a beautiful home. Originally a 3 bedroom, it is now a 2 bedroom, 2 bath plus dining area. 9 foot ceilings, exposed brick, reclaimed barn doors, washer/dryer, Fujitsi split system heat and air, and decorative fireplaces are just some of the main features.
The gracious long entryway leads into the massive custom built kitchen which has a quartz and glass countertop and includes a Bosch dishwasher, Summit refrigerator with ice maker, GE pro stove and additional beverage/wine fridge. Off this beautiful kitchen is the dining area with custom lighting and built in cabinets. All perfect for entertaining. The main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom which houses a clawfoot tub with jet air and LED light therapy, a shower and wonderful glass doors. All built out with additional storage and room for toiletries. Add to this, a Toto toilet and overhead lighting.
The second bathroom has the washer dryer and Mosaic black floor to ceiling tiling. A custom copper sink and ledge add to the delight of the guest bathroom.
Overlooking the kitchen is the large living room facing East. This bright and sunny room has the original decorative fireplace and showcases an unusual slant. It is not cookie cutter at all. A big closet and those original french doors lead to the second bedroom. This bedroom also has a quaint slant and a built in office desk plus a big window.
This building has a live-in Super and an elevator.
There is also additional storage in the basement for rent.
Located on the corner of West 114th Street and Saint Nicholas, the location is convenient to subways, restaurants and grocery stores. A very short walk to two beautiful parks (Central Park and Morningside Park). Pets allowed.

Ongoing assessment of $200 per month. This building is subject to HDFC rules and qualifies for a 4.75 Eagle loan. Please ask for details.

Harlem | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The neighborhood called West Harlem by the locals is known as Manhattanville to neighborhood newcomers. The area is culturally diverse and might be considered a microcosm of the city as a whole.

Columbia University has recently expanded into the area, which is attracting student residents from all over the world. Together with students from the City College of New York and young professionals fleeing higher prices in other neighborhoods, this influx of younger residents has brought with it more restaurants and bars on W 125th Street to serve this clientele. There are also new ventures, like a rock-climbing gym, to cater to the interests of these students and young professionals. At the same time, there are many small, family-owned shops and restaurants that have been anchors of the neighborhood for multiple generations.

The area has been through a housing upgrade, as older properties have been renovated and abandoned properties have been razed to make room for new development. There are still reasonably priced apartments available. Young professionals are finding that there is a certain cachet to living in West Harlem. It provides a convenient commute to the city and all of its amenities, while providing a sense of escape at the end of a long work day.

While rentals are popular with the student population, the young professionals are delighted to find pre-war brownstones, pre-war co-ops (including some income-capped HDFCs for lower- and middle-income buyers), and post-war condos that they can afford, although prices are rising. Some new low-rise developments, sporting virtual doormen and desired amenities, are cropping up.
