Property Description for 152 West 132nd Street, 2

152 West 132nd Street Unit 2...
https://youtu.be/oujK35wRa10

Noticeable in the Central Harlem - West 130th-132nd Streets Historic District, on one of the loveliest blocks in the neighborhood, is 152 West 132nd Street, a handsome Neo-Grec brownstone row house that is dignified with history, significance and notable characteristics. Your soon to be new home is in one of seven houses (144-156 West 132nd Street) designed by architects Cleverdon & Putzel and built in 1890 for Sarah E. Buckhout. The historic district is a significant enclave of residential architecture representative of Central Harlem's first major phase of development, and a remarkable reminder of the substantial role that the community of Harlem played in creating political and social change in New York City and the nation. In most recent years, the building fa ade that is fortunately dressed in historic highlights and detail has been beautifully resurfaced; the entire windows have been replaced throughout; and most amorously a complete reconstruction to the inside structure has been made.

Your potential calling card address is Unit Two which is a fine-looking and relaxing second floor through residence. The modern and attractive flat is minimally fashioned and designed with refined concrete flooring, exposed brick with two fireplace walls, unclosed kitchen with marble counters and stainless oven, dishwasher and fridge, and central heating and cooling throughout the space. The natural light is quite pretty and whether gazing out North or South the tall tilt and turn windows provide equally pleasant outlooks. The homes bedroom extension leads you into a warm and relaxed embrace that's got a great ensuite wash room fully fitted with toilet, wide sink, rain shower and plunge bath as well as a phantastic laundry closet with washer/dryer and supplemental storage.

This chic and well-turned out Flat is a serious apartment contender in a market with much to see and so much to understand in getting there.
I would be delighted to introduce you.

Harlem | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The neighborhood called West Harlem by the locals is known as Manhattanville to neighborhood newcomers. The area is culturally diverse and might be considered a microcosm of the city as a whole.

Columbia University has recently expanded into the area, which is attracting student residents from all over the world. Together with students from the City College of New York and young professionals fleeing higher prices in other neighborhoods, this influx of younger residents has brought with it more restaurants and bars on W 125th Street to serve this clientele. There are also new ventures, like a rock-climbing gym, to cater to the interests of these students and young professionals. At the same time, there are many small, family-owned shops and restaurants that have been anchors of the neighborhood for multiple generations.

The area has been through a housing upgrade, as older properties have been renovated and abandoned properties have been razed to make room for new development. There are still reasonably priced apartments available. Young professionals are finding that there is a certain cachet to living in West Harlem. It provides a convenient commute to the city and all of its amenities, while providing a sense of escape at the end of a long work day.

While rentals are popular with the student population, the young professionals are delighted to find pre-war brownstones, pre-war co-ops (including some income-capped HDFCs for lower- and middle-income buyers), and post-war condos that they can afford, although prices are rising. Some new low-rise developments, sporting virtual doormen and desired amenities, are cropping up.
