Property Description for 416 Washington Street, 3-E

This luxurious and incredibly spacious loft is in pristine condition, thoughtfully updated to create an exquisite and refined home. One enters the space through an elegant entry foyer which leads into the expansive North facing living/dining great room, highlighted by 10' ceilings and massive arched windows. The open and updated kitchen features Neolith countertops, Miele induction stove, Subzero refrigerator, Miele dishwasher, plus a 154-bottle wine cooler and bartender's pantry. Continuing on from the kitchen, you will find a roomy den with floor to ceiling glass pocket doors, so the entire room can be enclosed for privacy or open to the living area for additional entertaining space.

The oversized primary bedroom suite is beautifully serene, overlooking landscaped gardens and is blissfully silent. The primary en-suite bathroom is a masterpiece - an enormous space with double sinks, a true walk-in shower and a spa-like free-standing bathtub. The suite is further complemented by a tremendous outfitted dressing room plus a separate walk-in closet. The second bedroom is enormous - as big as a primary bedroom in any other apartment - and has an en-suite bathroom.

Other notable apartment features include solid Brazilian walnut floors, motorized window treatments, Lutron lighting throughout, a 12-speaker Sonos media system and a full sized washer/dryer. There is also a multi-zoned HVAC system controlled with Nest thermostats.

Perfectly located in the most charming part of Tribeca on a beautiful cobblestone street, 416 Washington Street is the 19th century portion of the coveted River Lofts Condominium, a former cast iron and masonry warehouse. This building was restored and converted into luxury condominium apartments in 2005. Building features include a fulltime doorman, a live-in Super, a state-of-the-art gym, a bike room, storage and a garage with direct elevator access.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
