Property Description for 930 Saint Nicholas Ave, 54

"Mid Century" 3BR (or two bedroom with a larger living room) with Modern features. This is THE cutest apartment to have come on the market in this hidden gem Coogan's Bluff!

As the original details were impeccably kept by a previous owner, the current owner has made tasteful updates in every room to accommodate an urban lifestyle without losing the original aesthetic.

The bathroom was newly renovated and freshly tiled while the original clawfoot tub and an antique door remained intact. All appliances were updated in recent years and well-maintained. East-facing primary bedroom also had a few closet additions, and the funky living room ceiling has gone through a beautiful facelift without losing its ceiling height. It truly shows that this apartment has been well-lived and loved by recent owners.

930 St.Nicholas Avenue is a modest coop(pet-friendly, sublets allowed after 2 years with a board approval and strong financials) and NOT hdfc building, conveniently located nearby C train W155th stop. This coop is offering a well-maintained Common Garden, a new Laundry Room and a reliable Live-in Super(Bike Slot & Storage Room are optional). A/B/C/D express stop and 1 train stop are also within a short distance and the building sits on the border of historic Sugar Hill and vibrant Washington Heights. The neighborhood is a historic residential area surrounded by trees of Highbridge Park and nearby Jumel Mansion.

Washington Heights | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Washington Heights, a hilly neighborhood on Manhattan’s northern tip known for its affordable apartments, preserved pre-war buildings, and Dominican food. Some would argue that it's a hidden gem and one of Manhattan's last neighborhoods that has retained its culture. The large swath of land is bordered by Inwood to the north along Dyckman Street, by Harlem to the South along 155th Street, by the Harlem River to the east, and the Hudson River to the West. It is the highest natural point on the Island of Manhattan.

Despite its high residential density, Washington Heights and Inwood have not seen modern housing construction in more than a decade other than relatively small housing units. Midtown Manhattan, Battery Park, TriBeCa, Chelsea, and Hell’s Kitchen, on the other hand, have seen an increase in building. Most of the high rise construction belongs to hospitals such as New York Presbyterian, Columbia University Medical Center, and educational institutions like Yeshiva University and Boricua College.

Washington Heights has access to amazing green spaces like The Cloisters, Fort Washington Park, Highbridge Park and Fort Tryon Park. There is no shortage of historical landmarks either. Remember General George Washington set up his camp in Washington Heights during the Revolutionary War. He used the elevated neighborhood to his tactical advantage to spot the Redcoats. As history would have it, his plan didn’t work out so well and the British occupied New York for seven years.
