Property Description for 35-26 79th Street, 51

This totally renovated, light-filled, top-floor apartment is full of the kind of details that you dream about, but never find … until now! Introducing a stunning 2022 renovation of the highest quality in a pet-friendly, three-bedroom/two-bathroom, pre-war coop in the Hampton Court. The renovation preserved the pre-war character, while modernizing its functionality. It features a new chef’s kitchen, an in-unit Washer/Dryer, open floor plan for living/dining/kitchen area, two new bathrooms, and tons of storage space. This thoughtful renovation will delight your inner interior designer! The kitchen has dozens of big and small upgrades that make cooking a pleasure. The kitchen has a wrap-around countertop of nearly indestructible soapstone, top-of-the-line appliances including a Liebherr refrigerator, 5-burner Bertazzoni gas range, and an Elica range hood that vents outside. But it’s the small details that show off dozens of smart design choices: a new walk-in pantry, a hidden spice rack, task lighting, a workstation sink, hidden cabinets with electrical outlets, and beautiful soft-close wood cabinets dressed with Rejuvenation hardware, to name a few. The kitchen shares the main living space with a formal dining area and the living room, which receives all-day east/west light from 5 huge windows. Opposite the kitchen is a hallway with a Miele washing machine and a dryer tucked into a closet, the third bedroom (currently used as an office and guest room) and a full bathroom with black marble floor and walk-in shower. On the other side of the living room, you’ll find another hallway leading to the second full bathroom (with bathtub) and two large bedrooms. The primary bedroom has custom built closets, remodeled to optimize storage. The second bedroom is spacious with plenty of room for twin beds and dressers, and almost 8’ of redesigned closet space. Throughout the apartment, no detail has been left undone. All the interior door knobs have been replaced with un-lacquered brass rosettes which will develop a patina over time. Light switches have been replaced with push button dimmer switches, and un-lacquered brass plates. The living room walls were skim coated and floors refinished five years ago. There are ceiling fans in each of the bedrooms and living room. Enjoy year-round access to the stunning block-long Hampton Court garden. Hampton Court is near the 37th Avenue shopping corridor, great dining, as well as the Farmers Market, Travers Park and the 34th Ave. Open Streets. The building has a live-in super and the unit includes basement storage unit. Pet friendly - bring your pup! Minimum 25% down and Board approval required. Subletting not allowed. Assessment of $398/mo. for 2023. Come and enjoy all that the Historic District of Jackson Heights has to offer.

Jackson Heights | Queens

Quick Profile

Jackson Heights has one of the most diverse populations in the city, and over 100 languages are spoken here. With this cultural diversity comes supporting restaurants, bars, shops and cultural opportunities. It is a mix of commercial and residential properties. There is a wide range of shops and service businesses, so that anything you would need, from a barber, to a pharmacy, to clothing, and food is available right in the neighborhood, no matter which culture or language you might need these services provided in.

Jackson Heights has three nicknames, based on micro-neighborhoods with the neighborhood as a whole. Little India occupies an area on 74th Street, while parts of 73rd Street are known as Little Pakistan. Little Columbia is along 37th Avenue.

A large portion of Jackson Heights has been designated as an historic district, from Roosevelt Avenue to Northern Boulevard, between the east side of 76th Street to the west side of 88th Street.

Jackson Heights was a planned community, where the first “garden apartments” were created in buildings constructed around central gardens and green spaces that gave neighbors a place to meet and socialize with one another, created places for children to play, allowing light to come into the apartments and air to flow freely through them. These gardens are private and only residents have access to them. Passing by the buildings, you might not even guess the gardens were there, as they are not generally visible from the street.

Additionally, there are some mid-rise apartment buildings. Some of these are rentals, some are co-ops, and some are condos. There are a few attached row houses that provide housing for one to three families.

As much as Jackson Heights might be full of noise and mix of cultures, it also has a quieter side, where the various cultures mix and mingle and learn about each other against a backdrop of beautiful architecture and a culinary landscape that brings the world to Queens.
