Property Description for 79 Laight Street, 5-C

Perfectly located designer pre-war triplex loft situated in TriBeCa's coveted Sugar Warehouse building.

Modern custom finishes are combined with pre-war elements in this very versatile and lofty layout. The main level is expansive with space for living, dining and entertaining and is complemented by exposed brick and a polished cement floor.

The open gourmet kitchen boasts walnut cabinets, lava stone counters, a breakfast bar, Viking refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher as well as Bosch convection oven and cook top. A laundry room and powder room complete this level.

Ascend to the spacious second level via a custom floating wood staircase to find two massive loft-style bedrooms both filled with sun through beautiful skylights. The primary bedroom is stunning with exposed brick, oversized custom fitted closets and an ensuite bath complete with a Carrera marble soaking tub and rain shower. The second bedroom is large enough to fit a king size bed and the home office, which serves as the third bedroom, has its own ensuite bath with expensive European fixtures. There is also a third full bathroom which services the second bedroom.

The ultimate allure of this magnificent penthouse is found on the third level where direct views of the Hudson River Waterfront Park and esplanade will completely captivate you. This flexible space which features a newly constructed kitchenette complete with wine refrigerator can be configured to your needs whether as a library/den, office or divided into a loft with an extra bedroom.

The Sugar Warehouse is one of the few full service and landmarked pre-war condominiums in the area offering a 24-hour concierge, fitness room, rooftop lounge, playroom, bicycle storage and live-in super. Across the street from the Hudson River Park and Piers 25 and 26, it is also within close proximity to SoHo, the West Village and all that downtown has to offer. Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
