Property Description for 56 Leonard Street, 24B-EAST

Welcome to 56 Leonard, TriBeCa's most iconic and well-located ultra luxury modern condominium. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, each floor of the tower distinguishes itself as its own "house stacked in the sky".

This striking south east facing 2 Bed, 2.5 bathroom corner residence captivates you both day and night. This very rare line has an expanded balcony off the living room and an additional one in the Primary Suite. It also has soaring 11' ceilings, spectacular floor-to-ceiling windows, and sweeping views of lower Manhattan and the Freedom Tower. Perfectly selected contemporary designer furnishings and lighting complement the custom interiors by Herzog & de Meuron and blend seamlessly with the Appalachian solid White Oak flooring and satin etched glass cabinets of the kitchen. Subzero and Miele appliances include a wine cooler, a fully vented hood for the cook-top, and a full-sized washer/dryer. Bask in the sunlight against the soft curves of the free-standing soaking tub in the five-fixture master bathroom of travertine and marble with radiant heated floors. A huge closet in the master suite offers an abundance of storage.

Enjoy year-round climate control from the multi-zoned 4-pipe heating and cooling system. 56 Leonard condominium provides residents with impeccable service and 17,000 square feet of world-class amenities: full-time doorman, on-site resident manager, live-in superintendent, fitness center, yoga studio, 75-foot infinity pool with sun deck, steam and sauna facilities, an indoor/outdoor theater, private dining room with catering kitchen, library lounge, playroom, personal and bike storage, and on-site valet parking. Just outside, right in the heart of TriBeCa, you will experience the fantastic shopping, dining, waterfront outdoor activities and cobble-stone streets of colorful loft buildings which make the neighborhood one of the world's most sought-after neighborhoods.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
