Property Description for 56 Leonard Street, 24B-EAST

24B East at 56 Leonard is quite striking and offers the best value when compared to other units with the same views and size in the building. This stunning residence provides two outdoor living areas, with the largest terrace (7' x 24') off the Great Room and a second terrace (6' x 14') off the principal Bedroom. The Floor Plan has a total area of 1,992 SF (1668 SF Interior / 254 SF Terraces).

Views from the residence are captivating and encompass stunning Manhattan cityscapes and iconic architectural landmarks, including the Chrysler and Citibank Buildings to the North; the Modernist 33 Worth Brutalist masterpiece to the East; with the Woolworth Building, World Trade Center, and Four Seasons to the South and West. Also visible are Manhattan, Queensborough and Williamsburg Bridges.

A grand Entrance Foyer (10' x 10") and Gallery (16' x 5') lead to the spacious Great Room that provides access to the larger terrace for enjoyment of sensational sunrises and moonlight. Motorized electric shades (blackout capacity in bedrooms) embellish the monumental windows and doors.

Interiors were designed with 11' ceilings. A sculptural granite island, Sub-zero and Miele appliances, and a built-in wine cooler encompass the kitchen. The five-fixture Principal Bathroom has Travertine marble floors with radiant heat. Appalachian solid White Oak flooring is installed throughout the residence and 4-pipe heating and cooling system is available for year-round multi-zone climate control.

In an unprecedented collaboration between artist and architect, the 56 Leonard landmark tower designed by Herzog & de Meuron has a base engaging with a specially commissioned Anish Kapoor sculpture. 56 Leonard was named one of the Top 10 Most Prestigious Condos In New York in 2019. It boasts an impressive amenity package of over 17,000sf spread over two floors including a 75ft Lap Pool, Fitness Center, Steam Room, Sauna, landscaped outdoor Sun-Deck, private Dining Room, catering space, Library and Lounge, Playroom, and Theater. This condominium also features a 24-hour doorman and concierge, Resident Manager, and on-site Parking Garage. Further allure is added by the soon-to-be complete Anish Kapoor "bean" sculpture at the base of the building.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
