CHELSEA / HUDSON YARDS AREA CONDO RENTAL

At the nexus of Chelsea and Hudson Yards, this sleek, bright, corner 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath Chelsea apartment is available for rent for a minimum of one year. Both the primary and second bedrooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, and there is a smaller, third bedroom, which has been used as a baby's room or office in the past. The double-sink primary bath has both a stall shower and a separate, deep soaking tub. It is handsomely clad in marble and limestone, as are the second bath and powder rooms.

There is central air conditioning, and a washer and dryer. With high ceilings, abundant light, and rich, hardwood floors, Apartment 7A at the Onyx has North, East, and West exposures, welcoming light throughout the day. The generously-sized corner living room has floor-to-ceiling windows, and the separate, corner dining room has built-in seating storage. There is a large open kitchen with abundant white cabinetry, honed black granite countertops, a Viking range, Subzero refrigerator, and Bosch dishwasher. There is both a wine refrigerator and an elegant, custom-designed built-in wall storage unit.

The Onyx, completed in 2006, is one of Chelsea's most established and revered boutique condominiums. There is a full-time doorman, a light-filled second floor gym, and two rooftop terraces. The Onyx is situated by Moynihan Hall/Penn Station, Hudson Yards, the 1, C, and E trains, Whole Foods, Avenues School, the Highline, and Chelsea's celebrated gallery district. Madison Square Park and the Hudson River Park flank the broader neighborhood.

Apartment 7A comes unfurnished; photos have been virtually staged to suggest scale and possibilities. Flex-walls are NOT allowed.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
