Queens Village is bounded by Hollis to the west, Cambria Heights to the south, Bellerose to the east and Oakland Gardens to the north. It’s also one of the easterly neighborhoods of Queens that borders Long Island’s Nassau County.

Considered one of the oldest settlements on Long Island, Queens Village was settled in 1640 by English immigrants arriving from Connecticut. Cattle pastures and small farms soon populated the land and the area was eventually called Little Plains. The railway arrived in 1837 and transformed the area even more. In 1856, residents voted to change the neighborhood name from Brushville to Queens. The neighborhood name of Queens Village became official some time in the early 1900’s.
